University of Kyrenia is getting ready for the groundbreaking ceremony of 5 new faculties on 15th November, on the Foundation Day of TRNC. The projects of 5 faculty premises of which the groundbreaking ceremonies will take place on 15th November will be finished before the beginning of 2016-2017 academic year.

According to a press statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of University of Kyrenia, adding 5 faculties and 17 departments to its existing 4 faculties, 2 High Schools and 12 departments, will start to 2016-2017 academic year with its new faculties.

In accordance with the planned projects of the University of Kyrenia, the new faculties of Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Economics & Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering will carry out their academic studies at the new campus buildings. The departments under these faculties are as follows; Department of Law under Faculty of Law (teaching medium is Turkish), Department of Architecture, Department of Interior Design, Deparment of Industrial Design under Faculty of Architecture (teaching medium is Turkish), Department of Banking and Finance, Department of Computer Information Systems, Department of Business Administration, Department of International Relations, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management under Faculty of Economics & Administrative Sciences (teaching medium is English), Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering under Faculty of Engineering (teaching medium is English).

Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu, Acting Rector of University of Kyrenia, made a press statement about the issue and said, " We have established the University of Kyrenia in such a way that it would bring in a new dimension to characteristics of Kyrenia Town, and yet, stand out in harmony with the architectural texture of the town. The new faculty buildings will be constructed in harmony with the characteristic architecture of the town, too. The new faculty buildings will be equipped with the latest technology required by the disciplines of the new departments. In the new faculty buildings we will offer the best possible educational and academic opportunities to our students, so that they will be able to carry out their theoretical studies and practical applications in a contemporary and well developed academic environment.
