The two solo exhibitions consisting of 32 works made by Kazakh Artists Kair Orazgaliev and Zura Assylgazina for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts were opened by the Minister of Labor and Social Security Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the Near East University, the opening ceremony of two separate exhibitions in the Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Near East University was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Security Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, vice rectors, lecturers, artists and invited guests.

At the opening of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Minister of Labor and Social Security Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu, Kazakhstan artists Kair Orazgaliev and Zura Assylgazina made a speech each.

The opening speech of the exhibition was made by the Vice Rector Prof.Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ who gave information about the works of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts which was founded on August 9, 2018 and brings together artists from many countries and unites world art in this geography as a unique project that provides opportunity of freedom in creativity. The museum was designed to be the largest museum of modern art in this geography, allowing all works of art and modern art to be exhibited. Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ continued his words; ’Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is a 6-storey complex consisting of a total of 14 halls including a foyer hall hosting 1,300 people, 4 permanent collection halls, 2 temporary collection halls, 2 photography exhibition halls and 3 sculpture collection exhibition halls. In addition, a 120-person cinema and conference hall where VIP conferences and symposiums can be held, VIP and guest halls, studios and laboratories where rare works will be analyzed, special sound and light infrastructure, photography studio, photography and restoration laboratory, specialist offices, cinevision hall , meeting rooms, air-conditioned warehouses for the protection of private works, repair and maintenance workshops. In addition to this, a fully equipped library and archive will shed light on art history.

Stating that the museum will undertake an important selection, collection, conservation and exhibition functions that address our country's platform as well as the international platform, he said that the collection of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will create a wide spectrum in terms of school, style and pattern, reflecting the different periods of the artists. Stating that hundreds of artists have participated in workshops so far within the scope of the project and opened exhibitions, Şanlıdağ voiced that in the last 10 months, the number of exhibitions opened on campus was 100, and the number of works in the museum inventory exceeded 12,000. Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ shared with the audience some excerpts from the artists' thoughts on the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art.

Artist Zura Assylgazina said, "I would like to say that I am very pleased to be in the territory of Northern Cyprus and to participate in the symposium which unites the Turkic world. I've discovered new talents in myself and I'm happy to move on to the next stage of development. Artist Kair Orazgaliev said, “I would like to say that we are pleased to see you with us today. I have opened my solo exhibitions in many countries so far, but I would like to state that the exhibition we will open at the Near East University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has a different place in my heart. It is a great pleasure for me to create work under the roof of the Near East University and I would like to say that I am proud that my artworks will be exhibited at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. Minister of Labor and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu, in his speech at the opening of the exhibition, emphasizing that the excitement gradually increased during the opening of the exhibition, said that the most important secret of success is excitement. After the speeches, Minister of Labor and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu presented the Silver Key Honorary Award to Kazakh Artists Kair Orazgaliev and Zura Assylgazina.

Exhibitions Visited…
Then two separate solo painting exhibitions were opened. The exhibitions will be open to visitors at the Faculty Hall of Dentistry between 08.00-16.00 on weekdays until August 30, 2019, where the themes of philosophy and world life and the connection of nature with human beings are reflected.
