Two Solo Art Exhibitions exclusively made for Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts by Two Kazakh Artists to be opened by Economy and Energy Minister Hasan Taçoy

Two Solo Exhibitions consisting of 21 Artworks exclusively made for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts by Kazakh Artists Almas Nurgozhayev and Yerlan Aituarov will be opened by Economy and Energy Minister Hasan Taçoy on Tuesday, January 07, at 08.30 at the exhibition hall of Faculty of Dentistry.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the Near East University, two separate solo painting exhibitions consisting of 21 artworks, of which of 9 them belongs to Kazakh artist Almas Nurgozhayev and 12 of them belongs to Yerlan Aituarov, will be opened by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy at the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Dentistry, Near East University.

Who is Almas Nurgojayev?
He was born on January 29, 1988, in the village of Kegen. Between 2003-2007, he completed his associate degree in O. Tansıkbaev Almaty Decorative and Applied Arts Academy and his bachelor’s degree in T. Jurgenov Kazakh National Academy between 2007-2012. In 2017, he received his master’s degree from T. Jurgenov Kazakh National Academy. Since 2014, he has been working as a drawing and composition teacher at O. Tansıkbayev Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts. She is a member of the Association of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is one of the professional artists of Russia and USSR. In 2018, with the support of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Fund, he won the 3rd prize in the “Energy, Youth, Art” international competition of young artists.

In 2017, he won an award the international creative youth festival “JASTAR” for his unique solution and a new artistic vision in the exhibition titled “Looking Ahead”. In 2016, he received a certificate of appreciation for his valuable contributions and support of the socially important project titled “I want to live” dedicated to children with cancer. He was also awarded for participating in the National Competition «Ancestors wanted independence», dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2015, he received the certificate of participation in the “ART CARAVAN” International Exhibition held in Abu Dhabi. In 2013, he received the certificate of participation in the “ArtSapar” travel exhibition. In 2012, he received a letter of appreciation for his special contributions to the creation of the art album “An Art Uniting Continents”. In 2011, he was awarded the first prize at the T. Jurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts for the best term paper at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture. In 2010, he participated in the republic exhibition “National Idea in Art”. In 2009, he participated in the 3rd city competition of young artists titled «Breath of Independence». In 2008, he participated in the 11th International Şabıt Creative Youth Festival.

Who is Yerlan Aituarov?
He was born on April 5, 1950, in St. Petersburg. He is a State Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is a lecturer at the Art Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Union of Designers. He graduated from Almaty Art College and Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts in 1979. His works are made in the fields of monumental art, decorative sculpture, and painting. He has made many wall paintings in public buildings and educational institutions. He is currently the Vice President of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He held solo exhibitions in 1990, 2000 and 2010. He also participated in national and international exhibitions in countries such as China and Turkey. His works are exhibited in museums of Kazakhstan and Spain, as well as taking place in many private collections in European and Asian countries.
