Personal exhibitions of Azerbaijani Artist Ramina Saadatkhan and Kazakh Artist Fatima Moldabayeva and mixed-exhibition of Printmaking Artists of Turkey, containing the artwork of Murat Kara, Ozan Güvendi, Armağan Konak, Şuayip Yücel, Hüda Sayın Yücel, Aytaç Özmutlu and Hakan Arslan exclusively prepared for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts are to be opened by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the exhibitions of Azerbaijani Artist Ramina Saadatkhan’s 22 art pieces and Kazakh Artist Fatima Moldabayeva’s 17 art pieces, in addition to the 50 art pieces of the Printmaking Artists from Turkey are to be opened at the Near East University İrfan Günsel Congress Centre on Wednesday, 11th December 2019 at 08:00.

Who is Ramina Saadatkhan?
She was born in Baku in 1977. During 1995-2000, she studied at A. Azimzade Art School, and during 2001-2005, she studied at the Azerbaijan Art Academy. She has participated in numerous exhibitions. In 1997, she participated in the group exhibition at the Modern Art Gallery in Baku, in addition to the exhibition dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day between 1999-2004, and in 2008, she participated in the 12th international exhibition in Azerbaijan’s Baku Modern Art Gallery. Furthermore, she was awarded the ‘Umid’ award in 2004 (Baku, Azerbaijan) and in 2012, she received the Silver Argus Award (Baku, Azerbaijan). Later in 2017, she participated in the international art fair in Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France. In 2018, she participated in the International Art Exchange and ‘HANRYU!’ symposium.

Who is Fatima Moldabekova?
The artist was born in Kazakhstan and in 1971 she graduated from Almaty Art College. She participated in Republican, regional and international exhibitions. In 1997, she took part in the exhibition “Women of Peace and Culture” at the world peace forum in France. In 2013, she received a medal for active activity. In 2016, the world heroic epic ‘Manas’ was awarded the gold medal in a republican exhibition for a series of auto lithographers. In 2019, her solo exhibition titled as “Turan” opened at the Central State Historical Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

50 Art pieces of 5 Artists from Turkey
Academicians and printmaking artists from Turkey, Academic Member of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Dr. Murat Kara; Academic Members Ozan Güvendi and Armağan Konak; Academic Members of Kırıkkale University Dr. Şuayip Yücel and Dr. Hüda Sayın Yücel; Academic Members of Ordu University Dr. Aytaç Özmutlu and Hakan Arslan; worked together at the workshop of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Near East University and created 50 artwork which are to be exhibited.

Original works are being prepared
Artists’ residency program coordinator and exhibition curator Assoc Prof Dr Erdoğan Ergün made a statement regarding the 14th Near East Printmaking Artists Residence and said:

“The study disciplines are an international art formation that includes all traditional printing methods and is realized in print painting workshops of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. Furthermore, the main objective of our program is to host print-art artists especially in the Turkic world in the field of contemporary art and the original works of the participating artists realized in workshops and studios will be completed in 2020 and these works will be included in the collection of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts that is to have 20.000 m2 closed area. Our artist residence, which has hosted more than 100 print artists so far, provides artists with research and production opportunities; alongside organizing excursions, seminars, and workshops.”
