Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Can Başar and Prof. Dr. Ihsan Calis from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Near East University, have been enlisted in the "Top 100 Turkish Scientists Leading Science" in the book of Turkish Time magazine, which included the research and inventions of top 100 Turkish scientists of whom the works resounded throughout the world.

In the book, which evaluates the research that Turkish scientists conducted in accordance with the H-index and accepted in the international literature, there are 100 famous names in the field of natural sciences operating in the world. The H-index shows the number of citations received by researchers.

Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate made a press statement revealing that Prof. Dr. Ihsan Çalış and Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Can Başar, Faculty of Pharmacy faculty members specializing on the field of plant chemistry, Pharmacognosy and aromatic plants as well as Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry enlisted in the list due to their much regarded studies.

In the opening speech of the magazine focusing on the works of Turkish scientists who conducted research at world-famous and leading universities and scientific institutions of the world such as Harvard, Yale, and Imperial College, it is said that "The more the scientists breakthrough in their fields, the more they are referred to...".
