Consisting of 50 works of art exclusively prepared for Cyprus Museum of Arts by Kyrgyz Artists Zhusup Matayev, Kanybek Davletov and Dogdurbek Nurgaziyev, three distinctive solo exhibitions were opened by Olgun Amcaoğlu, the Minister of Finance.

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that the opening ceremony of the three solo exhibitions was realized at the exhibition hall of Near East University Hospital with the participation of TRNC Finance Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu, Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat Irfan Günsel, UBP vice Secretary the General Ahmet Savaşan, Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Professor Filiz Meriçli, vice rectors, deans, faculty members, artists and guests.

The opening remarks of the exhibition were respectively delivered by NEU vice Rector Professor Fahreddin Sadıkoğlu and Finance Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu.

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu: "The exhibition features works of distinguished and outstanding artists..."
In his opening remarks, NEU vice Rector Professor Sadıkoğlu expressed that the exhibitions features the works of art of the artists, who are the most notable and distinguished artists of the former Soviet Union and who are the holders of People's artist and state artist titles.

Indicating that the artworks of the three artists have a worthy place in art galleries and private collections in different countries over the world, Professor Sadıkoğlu highlighted that the three painters represent different art movements although they adopt colorist painting.

NEU vice Rector Professor Sadıkoğlu also shared information about the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the activities carried out in the field of culture and arts at Near East University. "Driven by the initiative and future-looking vision of the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel, Near East University, after leaving her mark on great accomplishments in the field of education and health, has set sail towards opening new horizons in the field of culture and art and make our country's name known as a destination where Turkic culture and art come alive. In this regard, Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is the first and only museum reflecting solely Turkic culture and art. The museum, which is designed to be a 5 store building situated on 20 thousand square meters area, is currently under construction and its third floor is about to be finalized” noted he.

Expressing that more than 700 painters from different Turkic countries had come to our country within the frame of Art Workshop organized by Near East University, Professor Sadıkoğlu underlined that almost 12 thousand paintings and other works of art had been added to the collection inventory of the Cyprus Museum of Arts, which is scheduled to open its doors on 15 November, 2020.


Minister Amcaoğlu: "Near East University attaches great value on the art and the promotion of the country and this is of great importance..."
In his opening remarks, Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu stated that Near East University could be considered as a precious educational ground gifted to our country by Günsel family.

“Under the helm of the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel, Near East University always comes up new initiatives aiming at opening new horizons for our country. The innovative scientific activities, research and development studies and the exhibitions held so far are a clear indicator demonstrating that Near East University, attaches great importance on science, health, education, culture and art. We are aware of the mission undertaken by the Near East University in the field of art. It is an arduous process to design and establish a museum aiming at collecting, preserving and exhibiting the works of art created by the artists from Turkic republics and communities in order to move art further. In this regard, Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is unique since it will be a place where solely Turkic art and culture come alive. This mission undertaken by Near East University is of importance in terms of promoting our country and making it a prominent destination of art and culture of Turkic world” said he.

Minister Amcaoğlu ended his remarks by congratulating Günsel family and extending his appreciations to Kyrgyz artists for not sparing to exhibit their distinguished works that they exclusively created for Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.

Silver Key Honor Award has been presented...
Following the opening remarks, Silver Key Honor Award were presented to Kyrgyz artists Zhusup Matayev, Kanybek Davletov and Dogdurbek Nurgaziyev by Finance Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu. Following the award ceremony, each Kyrgyz artist delivered a speech of appreciation.

Following the award ceremony, Kyrgyz artist Zhusup expressed his views: “Thank you for being with us at this exhibition we opened together with my friends and colleagues. I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to Dr. Suat Günsel for giving us the opportunity to experience this moment".
Expressing his gratitude, Kanybek Davletov thanked the attending body for sharing that moment with them. "Every artist wants to come up with a creative work allowing him/her to read the feelings of all the audience. We have accomplished this mission in our works to be exhibited. Dear Dr. Günsel, I sincerely express my gratitude in recognition of your contributions to realize this exhibition. I wish success for my colleagues who are here now and or my colleagues who are going to exhibit their artworks in the coming days” noted the artist.

Then, Kyrgyz artist Dogdurbek Nurgaziyev expressed his feelings: “This is the third time I have come to the welcoming Cyprus Land and Near East University. But this time, I have come with my friends. This exhibition is of particular importance. We will share many work series with you. I would like to express that we are very proud and happy that our works will be under the roof of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. I would like to take this opportunity and extend my appreciations to Dr. Suat Günsel for his material and moral support to make the mission of art true".

They toured the exhibition...
Following the artists' appreciation remarks, the exhibition ribbon was cut and the exhibition was opened for visits. The participants toured the exhibition and got information about the artworks. The exhibition at Near East University exhibition hall is open between 08:00-16:00 hours on weekdays until July 1, 2019.
