Renowned soprano Laden İnce and pianist Nadya Kameneva, performing voluntarily at Near East University Hospital as part of the “Play for Health” project, once again showcased the healing power of art with classical works as well as Cypriot melodies.

Near East University, ranked among the top 500 universities in the world, continues to expand artistic interaction by integrating artists from outside the university into various aspects of life. Within this framework, soprano Laden İnce, known for her performances in many countries, took the stage at Near East University Hospital as part of the “Play for Health” project, run by the Atatürk Faculty of Education, accompanied by pianist Nadya Kameneva. Art lovers experienced music-filled moments at this special concert.

The recital, held in the foyer of Near East University Hospital, brought together academics, healthcare professionals, students, and patient relatives. Participants embarked on a delightful musical journey with a repertoire of select works of classical music. The concert, featuring works by world-renowned composers, offered a rich stage performance.

The concert also included pieces unique to Cyprus. Local melodies such as “Al Yemeni Mor Yemeni” and “Köprüden Geçmedim” were brought back to life with soprano and piano accompaniment. Highlighting the unifying and healing power of art, the event added a different atmosphere to the hospital setting, providing listeners with emotional and peaceful moments.

Artists and Students on the Same Stage!

The “Play for Health” concerts, held throughout the year at Near East University Hospital with performances by academic artists, have brought together many guest artists as well as students from the Music Education Department of the Atatürk Faculty of Education of Near East University. As part of the program, artists from the Music Education Department, İrade Melikova and Lecgturer Deniz Amcazade, along with Dr. Gözdem İlkay, gave unforgettable piano recitals to the audience. The concerts featuring Mezzo-soprano Assoc. Prof. Dr.Neriman Soykunt Korbay and soprano İmge Dinçer, accompanied by Dr. Gözdem İlkay on piano, also attracted great interest.

Dr. Ilias Abdullin from Near East University also contributed to the program. In addition to the academic artists from Near East University, the classical music repertoire performed by guest artist pianist Çağıl Cansu Şanlıdağ was also well-received by the audience. Performances by Near East College student Selin Reşatoğlu and guest artist Ayşe Deniz Necatigil were also highly appreciated.

The academicians and guest artists who performed at different times enriched the “Play for Health” concert series artistically, offering listeners new and impressive experiences each time.
