The winning works of Near East University’s award-winning photography contest “Life on Campus” have been announced!

The winning works of the “Life on Campus” photography contest organized in cooperation with Near East University and the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts have been announced.

In the contest, the works on the themes of “Human and Life”, “Natural Life”, “Art”, and “Environment and Architectural Structures” were evaluated by the jury. The jury, consisting of Head of Near East Enterprises Museums Department, Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul, Dean of Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç, Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Vice Dean and Advisor to the Rector Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün, Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Head of Graphic Design Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Okur and photographers Mehmet Gökyiğit, Gazi Yüksel and Buket Özatay, determined the winning photographs. 42 works that were deemed worthy of exhibition were determined by the jury’s evaluation. The works deemed worthy of exhibition will meet art lovers with an exhibition organized by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts on May 30. The winners of the contest will be announced in the exhibition area and will be entitled to receive a “Certificate of Achievement” as well as various awards.

Thanking the photographers who showed great interest in the “Life on Campus” photography contest they organized and the names in the evaluation jury, Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Vice Dean and GÜNSEL Art Museum Director Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün said, “We evaluated the works that applied to our contest at the jury meeting and determined the photographs that were ranked and deemed worthy of exhibition. We will announce the results with the exhibition we will organize on May 30,” he said.

“Our jury evaluated the works meticulously and took into account various themes and artistic elements when deciding on the winners,” said Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün, and added “Each of the works is like a mirror reflecting emotions. I sincerely congratulate the artists for their creativity and sensitivity.”
