The Two Personal Exhibitions of Kirghiz Artists Ruslan Ibraimov (Meleody) and Azamat Abakirov (Eternal Images) and Two Joint Exhibitions of Kazakh Artists and Turkish print Artists Consisting of Art Pieces Exclusively Created for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts have been Opened by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy

Kirghiz Artist Ruslan Ibraimov’s personal exhibition titled as melody consisting of 20 art pieces, and Kirghiz Artist Azamat Abakirov’s personal exhibition titled as Eternal Images consisting of 19 pieces; in addition to the artwork of Kazakh Artists Natalya Ligay, Alisher Zhurgenov, YersainJapakov and NurtayZhardemov’s 28 art pieces included in the joint exhibition with the Turkish Print Artists YurduşenKonanç, FundaAltın, HaticeÇöklü, Fatma DuyguŞenocak and UtkuÖksüz’s 30 art pieces, all exclusively created for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, making a total of four exhibitions of 97 artwork have been opened by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr.Suat İ. Günsel,Vice Rectors, Head of Institutes, Deans, Academic Members, artists and guests attended the opening ceremony of the exhibitions.

It was stated that Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Kirghiz Artist whose personal exhibition was to be opened, Azamat Abakirov, Ruslan Ibraimov and on behalf of the Kazakh artists Natalya Ligay, and on behalf of the Turkish print artists UtkuÖksüz, and finally the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy each made a speech at the ceremony.

Prior to the start of the opening ceremony, Vice Rector of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said: “We wish mercy from God to citizens who lost their lives due to the earthquake in Elazig, Turkey, urgent recovery to the injured people, and as the employees of the Near East University, we share the pain of the Turkish people once again.”

Prof.Dr.Şanlıdağ: “Subsequent to Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Medicine, now Faculty of Veterinary is included in the internship exchange program”
During his speech Prof.Dr.Şanlıdağ stated that this opening will be the 251stceremony openingheld due to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and in 2019, a total of 232 exhibitions were opened. Furthermore, he said: “We can continue our existence as long as we produce in medicine, informatics, technology and art.”

Prof.Dr.Şanlıdağ continued by focus on Erasmus programs and explained that three years ago, The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry started the internship and research exchange with the whole world after ensuring the membership of student associations to the World Student Federation.Then, last year the Erasmus program was initiated, and students and academicians were sent on exchange programs. Moreover, he stated that currently, at our university hospital 2 Faculty of Medicine students from Lithuania for their internships. Prof. Dr.Şanlıdağ said: “At the general meeting of the International Federation of Veterinary Medicine Student Federation held in Morocco on Saturday, the membership application of our University Veterinary Faculty Student Union was discussed, and the internship exchange program was started.”

Prof. Dr.Şanlıdağfurther said: “In 2020, we will continue our scientific and artistic projects without slowing down. Today Kirghiz Artists Ruslan Ibraimov’s exhibition titled as `Melody` consisting of 20 pieces and Azamat Abakirov’s exhibition titled as `Eternal Images` consisting of 19 pieces; in addition to the 28 art pieces ofKazakh artists Natalya Ligay, Alisher Zhurgenov, YersainJapakovandNurtayZhardemov, and 30 artwork which Turkish print artists YurduşenKonanç, FundaAltın, HaticeÇöklü, Fatma DuyguŞenocakandUtkuÖksüz created exclusively for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts; making a total of 97 art pieces are to be exhibited. I would like to express gratitude to all the artists and sincerely congratulate our award-winning artists.”

Ruslan Ibraimov: “Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project will markDr.SuatGünsel’smark on the history of the island”
As an artist whose personal exhibition was to be opened, Kirghiz artistRuslan Ibraimov said:“Before I start my speech, I would like to express great gratitude to Founding Rector of Near East UniversityDr.SuatGünsel for his invitation and offering us the opportunity to be a part of this spectacular Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.The time I spend here will definitely remain in my memory and heart until my last breath.I am very confident that with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project, the island of Cyprus is about to become the island of beauty.This will be a trail of Dr.SuatGünsel to be left on the island. You are doing a great job. I wish you and your relatives long and healthy life, prosperity and success”.

Natalya Ligay: “Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project is a lofty and unique project”
Speaking on behalf of Kazkah artists, Natalya Ligaysaid:“Today, in this world, we all create an education, culture and science alliance.After all, art unites all these aspects of life.The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project is a lofty and unique project, and the idea of connecting Turkish peoples with art is amazing.Here the spirits of our artists bloom like lotus buds, talent develops and creativity increases.The abundance of materials provides flight to the creator's imagination, and this is inspiring.This project allows the exchange of art strategies and experiences by different artists from the Turkic republics.We are eternally grateful for offering us this opportunity.”

Utku Öksüz: “After getting involved in the process, we understood much better how valuable this project is.”
Speaking on behalf of the Turkish Print Artists Utku Öksüzde: “I would like to express much gratitude to you all for honouring us by attending this opening ceremony; on my own behalf, and on behalf of all the participating artists. Our group of artists include academic members of Faculty of Fine Arts of Ordu University; Giresun Fine Arts High School Painting Department painting teacher; and Eskişehir Anadolu University Fine Arts Faculty graduate student.”

Utku Öksüzde continued her words by stating that they were extremely happy to be a part of this and pointed out that, from the moment that they set foot on the island to the present, they were shown much hospitality and warmth by everyone; including the service personnel to academicians. In short, Utku Öksüzde thanked everyone for their sincere hospitality.

“The institution that takes the pulse of art on the island is Near East University”
“After participating in this process where the Museum of Modern Art is rapidly getting richer, we have a better understanding of how big and valuable this project is. Furthermore, being part of this project honoured us. There is a lot to be said in the name of art about the budgets allocated for this formation, the number of attendees, and the time spent. The important thing that we want to share with you is how much we enjoy the time we spend here and our productive days make us very happy. It is not wrong to say that the institution that takes the pulse of art on the island is Near East University Thank you very much for being with us today, with the wish that all these works in the name of art will continue with the same tempo and sensitivity.”

In his speech, Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy said:
“Immediately after seeing these beauties, the beauty of today has entered a very different hall, and many different things began to pass through my mind. It is an island and many science and research places, one of which is Near East University. We are constantly seeing different activities at the Near East University, and every activity is valuable. The Vice Rector has mentioned about 250 exhibitions. 52 weeks 365 days, and at least 100 days of vacations are included in these 365 days. During this time, 250 exhibitions were mentioned.

Moreover, more than 800 events, 830 presentations are also made. Additionally, a new brand, Günsel, has also emerged. Alongside much advancement at the Near East University, much experience has also been gained. When considering the 250 exhibition opening ceremonies, I am proud to find out that I have attended the most. It is a great pleasure for me to come here and see what these beauties can see and create. Near East University is where technology, science, art and all kinds of development are taken. Many thanks to everyone who contributed.”

The artists were presented awards and the a ribbon cutting ceremony was held
Subsequent to the speeches made, Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy presented certificates of gratitude to Kazakh artists Natalya Ligay, Alisher Zhurgenov, Yersain Japakovve Nurtay Zhardemov ND Turkish Print artists FundaAltın, HaticeÇöklü, Fatma Duygu Şenocak, Yurduşen Konanç and Utku Öksüz. Moreover, a silver key award to Kırghız artists whose personal exhibitions were being opened Ruslan Ibraimov and Azamat Abakirov. Then a ribbon cutting ceremony was held. It was announced that the exhibitions were open to visit until 7th February 2020 at 08:00-16:00 on weekdays at the exhibition hall of Near East University Hospital.
