The “Turkish World Composers Concert” held by Near East University gave art lovers a magical evening full of music

The “Turkish World Composers Concert” held by the Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education Department of Music Teaching was held at the Near East University Grand Library Hall with intense participation.

The concert, which was open to the public free of charge, introduced the audience to the works of famous Turkish composers from Azerbaijan, Tatarstan, Turkey and Cyprus who left their mark in the Turkish world. In concert, the works of Fazıl Say, Rüstem Yahin, Tofiq Quliyev, Ali Küçük, Fikret Amirov, Arif Melikov, Kara Karaev and Kamran Aziz were performed. Academicians and students of Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education Music Teaching Department fascinated the participants with their performances.

There were many beautiful performances!

Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education Music Teaching faculty members İrada Melikova, Gözdem İlkay, Emine Arıkhan, İmge Dinçer, Asst. Prof. Dr. Emine Kıvanç Öztuğ, Dr. İlias Abdullin, students Emre Anbar, Eliz Hastunç, Vedat Çetiner, Ezgi Çolak and Sıla Küçükceren made a performance at the concert
where the “Mediterra String Quartet” group also took the stage. In the “Mediterra String Quartet” ensemble, Nina Koçubey on violin, İmge Dinçer on violin and soprano, and Dr. Neriman Soykunt, Mozaffar Nabili on cello and Hoda Badiee on percussion performed.

The concert started with Tofiq Quliyev’s “Jumping Rope” and also included Quliyev’s works called “Lyrical Dance”, “Walk”, “Gızlar Mahnısı” and “Sene de Galmaz” were also presented to music lovers throughout the night. Ali Küçük’s works “Etude” and “Zeybek”, Kamran Aziz’s “Al Yemeni” and “My Cyprus”, Fikret Amirov’s “Waltz”, Rüstem Yahin’s “Tatar Melody”, Arif Melikova’s “Prelude” ”, Fazıl Say’s “Kumru”, Kara Karayev’s “Waltz” and “Dance” were performed by academicians and students of the Department of Music Teaching.
