The traditional graduation exhibition of the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design was greatly appreciated

Prepared by the 2023-2024 Spring Semester graduates of Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, “15. Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Graduation Exhibition” was presented to the visitors at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall.

Bringing together the works of 17 young artists who successfully completed and graduated from Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, “15. Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Graduation Exhibition” was presented to art lovers.

Graduates of the year exhibited their knowledge and skills they acquired during their education with their original works. In addition to paintings, sculptures, ceramics, graphics and printmaking works, posters, books, clothes, packaging and many other designs made by graduates were presented to art lovers at the exhibition. Each work, bearing the traces of the students’ efforts and passion, revealed their commitment to art and creativity.

The opening speech of the exhibition was made by Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Dean Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç. On behalf of the graduating students, Öykü Demirci expressed his feelings.

Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç: “Graduating does not mean that everything is over; on the contrary, a new beginning awaits you.”

Dean of Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç, started his speech by saying “Hundreds of art schools around the world provide education to countless students every year.” and emphasized that choosing the right school is directly proportional to success. Prof. Dr. Aygenç said that Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design has created a school that opens horizons for its students with its well-established and experienced staff.

Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç said, “The curriculum applied in all art schools is mostly based on similar models. The focus of all of them is on workshop practices. In these workshops, students experiment, develop ideas and implement their projects. In other words, they learn by doing and experiencing. In this exhibition, you will see a section of the work made in the workshops.”

Addressing the graduating students, Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç said, “Graduating does not mean that everything is over. On the contrary, a new beginning awaits you. I congratulate you, our lecturers who contributed to your training, and your families who supported you. Don’t forget that our doors are always open to you, just like during the training. I embrace you all with love and wish you success in your new journeys.”

Öykü Demirci: “I wish all of us a bright, creative and hopeful future. May our roads be open and our success always be continuous.”

Expressing her feelings on behalf of the graduating students, Öykü Demirci said in her speech; “Hello, I am Öykü Demirci. I was a student at the Graphic Design Department and today, I am graduating with great pride and happiness. I am honored to share this joy with you, my dear classmates, on this special day.”

“I am endlessly grateful to our teachers who guided us throughout this journey and enlightened our path with their knowledge and experience,” said Öykü Demirci, adding, “And of course, I would like to thank my dear friends who shared this journey with me. The times we spent together, the moments we laughed and had difficulties, everything we experienced in this process are very valuable to me. I wish all of us a bright, creative and hopeful future. May our paths be open and our success be continuous.”
