The symposium “Writing Articles in the Light of Current Problems” held by the Near East University, which produced 51 percent of the articles published by the TRNC universities, with the number of articles produced in a year exceeding 1,600 bands, was carried out with the intense participation of academicians.

The symposium, organized by DESAM Research Institute at İrfan Günsel Congress Center, was attended by nearly 100 academicians from the faculties of Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Law, Construction and Environment, and Medicine, as well as graduate and doctorate students of Near East University attracted great interest.


Near East University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ from DESAM Research Institute, Prof. Dr. Murat Sayan, Prof. Dr. H. Seda Vatansever, Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Deputy Chief Physician and editor-in-chief of the Cyprus Journal of Medical Sciences Assist. Assist. Prof. Dr. Sonuç Büyük, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gürkan Ünsal and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hoca made presentations whereas Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emil Mammadov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel presided the two panels during the symposium.

In the symposium, topics such as the Near East University’s vision of producing science as well as the strategies of publishing houses, editorial view, referee evaluations, indexes and impact, choosing the right journal and what should be considered in article writing were discussed.


Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “Every academician should share the results of their scientific studies as result of their responsibility they carry towards society and humanity, by turning them into articles with the scientific world.”
Reminding that Near East University academics produced more than 1,600 articles published in 2021 and 51 percent of the articles published by the TRNC universities alone, Near East University Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “While we represent our country in the scientific world with our competent academics, fully equipped laboratories, international projects and R&D activities we carry out, we present the results we have obtained to the service of humanity with the articles we publish.”

Emphasizing that every academician should share the results of their scientific studies as a result of their responsibility towards society and humanity, by turning them into articles, Prof. Dr Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “The power of science and scientific knowledge to transform the world and move humanity forward is the result of this necessity.”
