The “Spirit of Place” exhibition, featuring 50 artworks by 21 award-winning academic artists, will be opened by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Özdemir Berova, on Thursday, March 26th at 4:00 PM at the GÜNSEL Art Museum Exhibition Hall.
The group exhibition, “Spirit of Space”, consisting of artworks by academic artists from the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and artists from the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, will be opened by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Özdemir Berova, on Thursday, March 26th at 4:00 PM at the GÜNSEL Art Museum Exhibition Hall.
The exhibition, which will bring together artworks from different disciplines, will re-examine the concept of space through artistic interpretations. Featuring 50 artworks in painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking, the exhibition will be open to the public free of charge until April 24th.
The exhibition, which is the 480th exhibition of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, is curated by Prof. Erdoğan Ergün, Rector’s Advisor at Near East University and Director of the GÜNSEL Art Museum.

Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün emphasized that the convergence of different forms of artistic expression enriches both the production and perception processes. “Each artwork gains new meanings in conjunction with the space in which it is exhibited. The viewer, in turn, has the opportunity to create their own interpretation within this totality.” said Prof. Ergün, adding that it is a great source of happiness for them to bring together the works of faculty artists who blend their academic knowledge with original approaches. Stating that the works in the “Spirit of Space” exhibition reveal the transformative power of art through different techniques and forms of expression, Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün invited all art lovers to discover this multifaceted experience firsthand.
