The smart t-shirt, which was designed as a result of the studies carried out in the field of wearable technology in cooperation with the Near East University Innovation and Information Technologies Center and the Health Operations Research Center, successfully passed the tests.

With the development of wearable technologies, carrying out many health tests that can normally be carried out in full-fledged hospitals becomes possible with smart clothes that you can wear at any time. The smart t-shirt developed by the researchers of the Near East University Innovation and Information Technologies Center and the Health Operations Research Center can also monitor and record the electrical activities of the heart in real time.

The t-shirt, the first prototype of which passed the tests successfully, will be able to record the ECG data of people with heart problems in real time and instantly inform their doctor when necessary. All of the electromechanical and artificial intelligence-based algorithms of the device placed inside the t-shirt were developed by Near East University engineers. The device designed by software, computer, electrical, electronic, mechanical and biomedical engineers can work smoothly even during active physical activities thanks to the developed software.

Instant ECG data of the patient will reach his doctor
Near East University engineers and researchers continue their work without slowing down to turn the smart t-shirt, the first prototype of which works successfully, into the final product. In the second phase of the study, it is aimed to instantly deliver the real-time ECG data, which is followed by a smart t-shirt, to the patient's doctor. Thus, there will be a chance to intervene in potential heart diseases beforehand.

Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “We have transformed the scientific studies we have carried out in the field of health into very important products so far. The smart t-shirt developed by our researchers is an invaluable example of this.”
Near East University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, "Wearable health products developed by Near East University Innovation and Information Technologies Center and Health Operations Research Center researchers are very important studies showing the power of our university to produce science," and said, "The smart t-shirt developed by our researchers is a very important example of this."

Stating that they will continue to develop new products in the field of health by continuing such studies that require high technology, Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ said, “We have transformed the scientific studies we have carried out in the field of health into very important products so far. Protective Nasal Spray Olirin, PCR Diagnostic kits we have developed for viral diseases such as COVID-19 and Monkeypox, our PCR kit capable of GMO analysis, and products we have developed in the field of wearable health products are just a few of them. We will continue to work in these areas and develop new products without slowing down.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilber Uzun Özşahin: “We have all seen how important and vital it is to produce domestically in the field of health, especially during the pandemic period.”
Director of Operations Research Center in Health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilber Uzun Özşahin said, "We have all seen how important and vital is to produce domestically in the field of health, especially during the pandemic." Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özşahin said, "The products we have developed in the field of health together with competent researchers at the Near East University not only contribute to the TRNC's economy, but also carry our country forward technologically."

Assist. Prof. Dr. Özlem Balcıoğlu: “With the smart t-shirt developed by the Near East University, we will instantly monitor the heart health of our patients and have the chance to intervene quickly when necessary.”
Assist. Prof. Dr. Özlem Balcıoğlu emphasized that the "smart T-shirt" developed by Near East University researchers will ensure that especially heart patients who require regular follow-up will be under constant control in their daily lives and that this is very valuable for patient health. Assist. Prof. Dr. Balcıoğlu said, "With the help of the smart t-shirt developed by the Near East University, we will instantly monitor the heart health of our patients and have the chance to intervene quickly when necessary."
