Hosted by Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, 3 separate personal exhibitions of Uzbek Artists Nodir Shoabdurahimov, Khasan Aminov and Kazakh Artist Omirzak Rystan have been opened by Minister of Labour and Social Security Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the exhibitions are held at Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre. It was announced that Minister of Labour and Social Security Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Vice Rectors and Academicians of Near east University, artists and guests attended the opening ceremony of the exhibitions. Furthermore, it was stated that Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Uzbek artists Nodir Shoabdurakhimov and Khasan Aminov, Kazakh artist omirzak Rystan, and Minister of Labour and Social Security Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu each made a speech at the ceremony.

Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “Due to the First and Only Scientific Research Projects (BAP)Our University has become a Science Production Centre...”
Making the opening speech, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ stated that with the 4th generation model which the university adopted, it is conducting scientific, academic and artistic work. He added that the university had future plans as well.

He said that as the Near East University is using all contemporary methods and tools in the most effective ways and is determined to be among the first best 500 universities in the world. Moreover, he emphasised that the science they produced was far ahead of the science produced by universities in Cyprus; and in fact, produced science within ten percent of the universities in Turkey. Moreover, he said that they, as the university, offered different research centres and laboratories for the service of all researchers.

He emphasised that the structure that will make the first and only Coordination Unit of the Scientific Research Projects functional was put into practice within the Near East University; 380 scientific research projects were produced in the last 3 years, and 120 of these were completed; while 260 of them were still ongoing.

Near East University is taking part in a CERN Project…
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ expressed that capable of processing 1.5 trillion data per second, China's Particle Experiment of Supercomputer, which ranks 13th in terms of capacity in the world (Together with CERN, one of the world's largest projects), Near East University is working in the project for the past 4 years. Additionally, he said that Near East University is supporting WHO projects and all Turkish academicians were welcome to use the Super-Computer free of charge. Also, he said that they have participated in a CERN project on behalf of Near East University as of the last month. Prof. Şanlıdağ expressed that their goal is to take part in this project on behalf of the Near East University and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus within 2 years with a research group.

“Near East University Unites World Art in this Geography”
Finally, Prof. Şanlıdağ expressed his thoughts and feelings on art and said that Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts brought together artists from different countries. By this way, he said that it unites world art in this geography; as a unique project that provides freedom in creativity. Artwork especially created for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, 17 art pieces of Uzbek artist Nodir Shoabdurahimov, 20 art pieces of Khasan Aminov, and 17 artwork of Kazakh artist Omirzak Rystan are being exhibited. He ended his words by sincerely thanking the artists on behalf of the University, for their support to this important project.

Khasan Aminov: “Working Under the Roof of Near East University, Producing is a Great Treasure for Me!”
Making an opening speech at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre, Uzbek artist Khasan Aminov began his words by expressing gratitude to the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel for the invitation and allowing them to be a part of this unique spectacular project. Furthermore, he said that working and producing artwork under the roof of Near East University was invaluable for him. He said:

“My works are not similar and contain different motivations and energy. I would like to say that I am proud that they will be present at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. As I am here today, I would like to express my eternal gratitude and respect for your support and inspiring atmosphere. I wish you and your relatives health, prosperity and success.”

Nodir Shoabdurahimov: “The Contributions of Founding Rector Dr Suat Günsel to the Culture of the Turkic World Has a Historical Importance”
In his speech, Uzbek artist Nodir Shoabdurahimov expressed that the contributions made by the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel to the culture of the Turkic world had a historical importance. He said:

“The exhibition that we are about to open is the result of our joint efforts. It is also a symbol of the deep friendship between Uzbek and other Turkish peoples. As Uzbekistan artists, we are honoured to be a part of such a project. We are eternally grateful to everyone who is with us today. We wish everyone health and success!”

Omirzak Rystan: “Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is the first and only of its kind in the world!”
In his speech, Kazakh artist Omirzak Rystan congratulated his friends on the occasion of the opening of his personal exhibitions and greeted the guests who attended the opening. Furthermore, he emphasised that Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which will host the art and culture of the Turkish world under one roof, is the first and only of its kind in the world. He said that these exhibitions united Turkic people under the umbrella of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. He said that this was a great opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and friendship. Finally, Omirzak Rystan said that they were very happy and proud to contribute to the mission and purpose initiated by the Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr Suat Günsel.

Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu: “Near East University provides gateway of our country to the World!”
He said: “We have left behind about 120 exhibitions. Hundreds of artists shared a piece of their own spirit, energy and creativity with us. The Near East University, which invites artists from the international art world, acts as a medium of contact between our country and the world. By coming here to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, creating their art and going back home, the artists have the knowledge and experience regarding our country to promote it to others. As we all know, this is an important task.”

Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu: “Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is now the biggest museum in the world!”
Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu said that producing works of art is a special skill, and not everyone has it. Also, he expressed that the talents of our artists come from their educational and working

experience, and the high quality of the works is evident. He emphasised that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, which currently consists of 15,000 works, is the largest museum in the world and added that by November 15, 2020, it will surely reach its 20 thousand target.

Silver Key Honour Awards were presented…
It was stated that after the speeches were completed, Minister of Labour and Social Security Dr Faiz Sucuoğlu presented silver key honour award and thank you plaques to Khasan Aminov, Nodir Shoabdurahimov and Omirzak Rystan.

The opening ribbon was cut…
Subsequently, the opening ribbon was cut, and the exhibitions were explored. It was announced that the exhibitions were available to visit at 08:00-17:00 on weekdays at the exhibition hall of Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre until end of 7th October 2019.
