The new administration starts at the Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students without slowing down

The new administration took office in the Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students (NCADS), which was established in 2013 under the leadership of Near East University. NCADS, which is also a member of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS), which represents more than 200 thousand dental students from 70 countries around the world, has achieved many successes in the national and international arena. The student union, which will also host the 69th Semester Congress of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS) to be held in Kyrenia between 19-24 February and stands out as the window opening to the world for dental studenst, will also be a part of the internship and research exchange programs for dental students studying in the TRNC.

NCADS also stands out with its voluntary social responsibility projects. In this context, the association, which has voluntarily carried out dental health activities in many institutions such as retirement homes and SOS Children’s Village for individuals with special needs, will continue these activities without slowing down in the coming period.


Özel Baysen, who continues his doctorate studies at the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry, will serve as the NCADS President in the new term. Sedat Burak Gültepe, who continues his education as a trainee dentist at the Faculty of Dentistry of Near East University, is the General Secretary, Bersun Elif Özer is the Foreign Affairs Officer, Ali El Kasım is the Social Affairs Officer, Barış Veysel Şendur is the Financial Affairs Officer and Husam Al Tanjy is the National Student Exchange Officer in the new term. Near East University Faculty of Dentistry 3rd year students Işık Çalışkan will be the Volunteer Affairs Officer and Ayşe Sena Kaya will be the Editor-in-Chief. Nursema Gür, a student of the Faculty of Dentistry of the European University of Lefke, is also in the administration of NCADS as Scientific Affairs Officer.


Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz: “We will continue to stand by our students with all our means.”
Near East University Dean of Students Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum said that they are working to make students socialize on the one hand, and on the other hand, to get in touch with the world in their own fields and to gain experience with international events that will make great contributions to their profession in the future. Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz said, “Standing out as one of our most active student associations, the Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students, has represented our country and university in the best way in the world with the studies it has carried out so far. I have no doubt that the new term administration will continue this success. We will continue to stand by them with all our means.”

Dt. İsmet Ersalıcı: “I wish success to the new administration of NCADS, which plays an important role in the integration of dental students in our country with the world.”
From the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry, Dt. İsmet Ersalıcı will also serve as an advisory faculty member at NCADS in the new term. Ersalıcı also served as Internship Exchange Officer and President at NCADS during his student life. Ersalıcı also took on various duties at the International Dental Students Association and served as the Middle East Regional General Director between 2020-2021. Dt. İsmet Ersalıcı said, “I wish success to the new administration of NCADS, which plays an important role in the integration of dental students in our country with the world. We will continue our national and international works without slowing down by transferring the experiences we have gained in previous years to the new administration.”

Dentist Özel Baysen, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Dentistry of Near East University, who expressed her happiness at taking on the presidency of the Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students (NCADS), which has signed many important projects and international events since 2013, said: “We will continue to bring dental students studying in the TRNC together with the world in the new term, with the experience and opportunities provided by the Near East University.”

Stating that they received great support from the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry teachers and the Near East University Dean of Students, NCADS President Baysen said, “We will host the International Association of Dental Students (IADS) between 19-24 February. The 69th Semester Congress will be our first big test.”
