Kirgiz artists Gulnafis Mergenbayeva, Stalbek Toktoyev and Ulan Dzhaliyev, and Kazakh artist Nurlan Shilibayev exclusively created a total of 76 art pieces for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, and consisting of four personal exhibitions, in addition to 40 art pieces of Russian Artists Vera Frolova, Salavat Gilyazetdinov, Vagiz Shaikhetdinov, Gulnaz Gilyazetdinova, Khamza Sharipov, Sofya Asochakova, İgor Katonov, Duilustan Boitunov, Arzhan Yuteyev and Amyr Ukachin, which will be opened as a mixed artists’ exhibition by the Minister of Labour and Social Security.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the exhibition of 3 Kyrgyz and a Kazakh artist consisting of a total of 76 art pieces, four personal exhibitions, and a mixed artists’ exhibition of Russian artists, consisting of 40 pieces will be opened on Wednesday, 27th November 2019 at 8:30 at the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Communication of Near East University

Russian artists reflect national traditions, cultures and nature in their works
The works of Vera Frolova, one of the Russian artists to be exhibited, are distinguished by their colours. As for the artwork of Salavat Gilyazetdinov, Vagiz Shaikhetdinov and Gulnaz Gilyazetdinova reflects the culture and history of the people of Bashkortostan. Furthermore, Khamza Sharipov illustrates Tatarstan’s national traditions in his work. Sofia Asochakova, an artist from Hakasya, paints the landscapes and nature of Hakasya in his paintings. Igor Katonov is the youngest artist of the group from Altai. Duitan Boitunov, an artist from Yakutia, reflects the Yakut people in his works. Arzhan Yuteyev, who is from Altai, is an artist who has received many awards: he became the first and second award winner in different categories at the Russian Art Festival "URAL ART WEEK - 2015".

Amyr Ukachin is State Artist of the Russian Federation. Many of his works are in museums and private collections.

Who is Gulnafis Mergenbaeva?
The artist has been born on 4th September 1962 in the village of Kaynar in the Semipalatinsk region of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1984, he graduated from the Art College named Gogol in the city of Alma-Ata. Then in 1994, he graduated from Kazakh State Academy of Art. Since 2007, he is a member of Kyrgyz Republic Artists Association. Furthermore, he has been working at Osh State University since 2016. He is a participant of regional, local and international exhibitions. In 2011, his personal exhibition "Art - is eternal renewal" was opened. His works can be found in the Osh Museum of Fine Arts and in many private collections.

Who is Stalbek Toktoev?
The artist was born on 21st April 1958 in Ak-Terek village. From 1973 to 1977, he studied at the Frunze College of Art. From 1977 to 1983, he studied at the State Academic Art Institute, 5th Surikov in Moscow. Moreover, since 1983, he has worked as a teacher at local universities.

Since 1988 he is a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Union of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. He participates in regional, local and international exhibitions. Works Austria, Germany, Hong Kong, China, Cuba, Canada, Turkey, Japan and other countries are in private collections.

Who is Ulan Djaliev?
He was born on 29th December 1962 in Bishkek. In 1982, S. Chuykov graduated from the Kyrgyz State Art College. Since 1984, he has been working at the Osh Art Fund. During the years 1986 and 1991, he studied interior and exterior design at the Art Institute of Zhurgenov in Alma-Ata. Since 1996, he is a member of the Artists Union of the Kyrgyz Republic. He participated in International Painting, Sculpture, Graphic and Art Symposium titled as “Artists and Children”. Moreover, during 2013 and 2017, he chaired Osh Branch of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic. Since 1980 he has participated in national and international exhibitions. His work can be found in Turkey,

China, America, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and vet the private collection of the country. It is located in the Museum of Fine Arts, Sadykov.

Who is Nurlan Şilbayev?
The artist was born on 29th March 1952 in Kazakhstan. In 1973, Auyezov graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of Shymkent Pedagogical Institute. Since 1990, he is a member of the Association of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He participates in many national and international exhibitions. His works can be found in the backdrop of the Kasteev State National Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts. He is the cultural ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. In 2018, he participated in Aitmatov's 90th anniversary international symposium on outdoor painting. The Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded a medal for its contribution to the development of culture and education.
