Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç: “As Near East University, we believe that art and science are an inseparable whole and we continue with this philosophy.”
Near East University Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenc, referring to his colleague Gökhan Okur’s words, he said, “Art and science are like two oars of a boat, they cannot be separated, no matter how much you pull one oar, you stay where you are, you cannot progress. Just like a painter working on light and colors like a physicist, or a novelist conducting research like a sociologist, there is not a contrast between science and art, but parallelism.”

Expressing that as the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design staff, they are a team of forward-thinking and innovative academic staff, Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç said, “These works, in which the artists reflect their own realities by addressing the problems of the period in which they live, are the products of a tremendous effort and intense disciplined work.” Prof. Dr. Aygenç ended his speech by inviting all art lovers to see the “May Exhibition of Fine Arts” and “Dedication” exhibitions, which will be open until 30 October.
