The exhibitions of 5 artists from Kazakhstan and of the painter Yagshymyrat Kerimov from Turkmenistan, consisting of 47 artworks in total exclusively prepared for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts were opened by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the Near East University, the exhibition opened at the Exhibition Hall of the Cyprus Art Center of the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center attended by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Deputy Secretary General of the National Unity Party Ahmet Savaşan, vice rectors, lecturers, artists and invited guests.

At the opening of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof.Dr. Tamer Şanlidağ, Kuandyk Baimukhanov and Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Tacoy made a speech on behalf of the Kazakh artists.

The opening speech of the exhibition was made by the Vice Rector of the Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said "Considering the international contemporary aesthetic values, insights and understandings, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts located on the campus of the Near East University of Cyprus, the will address to services of our country at the international platform as an important art center bearing responsibility in collection, selection, accumulation, protection and exhibition of artworks.

Stating that the collection of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art will represent the best of their countries in the context of art history, Prof. Dr. Şanlıdaş said "So far, hundreds of artists participated in workshops within the scope of the project. The number of exhibitions opened on campus in the last 10 months has exceeded 100. The number of works is over 12,000. ”

Vice Rector Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ stated that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, which brings together artists from many countries, provides freedom in creativity and unites world art in this geography, has risen as the largest modern art museum of this geography in a way that allows all works in the field of antiquities and modern art to be exhibited.

At the end of his words, Şanlıdağ said that the Museums Area of Near East University will include 7 museums in service of art lovers; Cyprus Car Museum, Herbarium and Natural History Museum, National History Museum, Maritime Museum, Knife and Sword Museum and Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.

Speaking on behalf of Kazakh artists, Kuandyk Baimukhanov said "Thank you for welcoming the Turkic world artists who came to the Near East University family on the territory of Northern Cyprus and sharing this moment with us. The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which will host the art and culture of the Turkic world under one roof, is the first and only in the world. In his opening speech, Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy stated that Cyprus Museum of Modern Art is an art temple that can sit in the first place in the world. Minister Taçoy continued his speech by mentioning the works created by the artists and said: When I sat down, I had a huge picture. Looking at this painting, I wondered whether I would immerse myself in water or drown in the richness of nature, or try to feel what an invisible touch of a small butterfly was and where it addressed. The greatest pleasure and emotion that an artist can give to the other person is to understand, to see and to reach the peak of the pleasure you receive from him. The power and energy of water, having the butterfly and the elephant in the same picture, displaying a beautiful symbol of power and fine curvature, there is nothing more valuable than depicting the power and elegance in one symbol. The artist and art can make us all feel it. ”

Expressing that a picture can lead to a full of text and thoughts, Minister Taçoy said that there is nothing more difficult than understanding how and what the artist is thinking at the moment of producing his art.

Taçoy added that an artist tries to give something abstract, concrete, surrealist realist and that this is a reflection of reality in real terms. Noting that there are 12 thousand works created so far, Hasan Taçoy added that a great treasure and a great wealth were created in which approximately 3,000 artists reflected their distinct views, philosophical approaches and outlook on the world.

Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy said, “Thousands of people have actually visited the TRNC and the Near East University and created their own works by using the resources provided here. No such thing has been seen, nor has any country experienced such an event. Everyone should realize that the interest and relevance of Suat Hoca, who felt the responsibility of the work, and the burden of responsibility on his shoulders. This is a sign of a great event and the creation of a great treasure and temple that can sit in the first place around the world. ”

Expressing their pleasure and satisfaction from the initiative on behalf of the country, Minister Taçoy concluded his words by saying that they are happy as the government and appreciate this initiative.

Exhibition Ribbon Cut…
After the speeches, the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy presented the Silver Key Honor Award to the painter Yagshymyrat Kerimov from Turkmenistan and a Certificate of Appreciation to the Kazakh artists. Afterwards, two separate exhibitions were opened by cutting the exhibition ribbon.
