The First Step towards the Championship in FIBA Women EuroCup

The FIBA Women EuroCup finalists are taking the court for the first leg of the EuroCup final today.

The Near East University Women’s Basketball Team that advanced to the EuroCup finals by defeating Galatasaray is facing Bellona AGÜ away for the first leg of the FIBA Women EuroCup final.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, the first leg of the final game will take place at Kayseri Kadir Has Congress and Sports Center at 19:00 on Wednesday 5 April 2017 (today). In the press statement, it was highlighted that the game would be a high tempo and breathtaking one as both teams would fight to be the winner. The match will be broadcasted live by BRT 2 and www.fiba.com.

The second leg of the FIBA Women EuroCup final will be played at Istanbul Caferağa Sports Hall on 12 April 2017. The winner will be determined by aggregate score, the sum of the scores of two legs. If the Near East University achieves the aggregate score, the trophy will come to TRNC for the first time in its story.

Touching upon the significance of playing the EuroCup final, Zafer KALAYCIOĞLU, the Head Coach of NEU, shared his views regarding the game: “Since both teams will fight to win the game and achieve a score advantage for the second leg, the match will be the scene of tough fights and breathtaking moments. The legs of FIBA Women EuroCup final will be the most challenging two matches of the year. May the best team win” said he.
