Artificial intelligence, the internet of things and robotic technologies, which are among the most important fields that will shape the future of the world are already providing opportunities for exciting applications. Scientific studies on these technologies, which have started to transform many areas from business and production processes to daily life, reveal the endless boundaries of applications that will be implemented in the future.

The first issue of the “Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things” journal, prepared by the Near East University Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Institute, covers health and imaging technologies and contains very important articles on artificial intelligence supported applications in many fields from psychology to emotion analysis.

Near East University, which is among the top 250 universities in the world in the field of “Engineering” and “Computer Sciences” in the 2022 World Universities Ranking announced by the London-based international rating agency Times Higher Education (THE), has a very important place in the vision of artificial intelligence and education. Near East University academicians, while continuing research studies on robotics technologies, are also studying on projects that will put the academic knowledge in this field into practice.

Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman: “Many devices and systems powered by artificial intelligence, robotics and the internet of things will shape the world of the future.”
Director of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things Research Center operating under the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Institute of Near East University and the editor-in-chief of the journal Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman stated that they included interdisciplinary studies in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics and the internet of things in the journal in which they published the first issue and said, “Today, it is of vital importance to transform scientific knowledge into practice. Many devices and systems supported by artificial intelligence, robotics and the internet of things will shape the future of the world. We aim to follow the traces of this transformation in our journal.”

Stating that they received 50 article applications from different universities of the world for the first issue of the journal, Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman said, “Since our aim is to increase quality rather than quantity, we have published 5 articles that we selected from among these articles through a double-blind referee assessment.”

Stating that they have started preparations for the second issue of the “Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things” journal, Prof. Dr. Al-Turjman stated that with the second issue to be published in June 2022, they are carrying out the necessary studies to have their journals scanned in international indexes.
