The “Fine Arts Exhibition” of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts consisting of 60 works organized in memory of Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan will be opened on January 26 at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall

The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts bids farewell to Rector Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan who was sent off to eternity last week with a magnificent exhibition. The “Fine Arts Faculty Members Exhibition”, which will bring together 60 artworks of academician-artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Near East University, will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 16:00. The exhibition will be opened at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall in memory of Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan.

In the “Fine Arts Exhibition”, which will be the 434th exhibition opened by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, 60 artworks consisting of painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and stained glass will meet with art lovers.

The exhibition, which will be open to visitors free of charge until February 20, will be curated by Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Deputy Dean and GÜNSEL Art Museum Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün said, “Devoting 30 years to the Near East University and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, our teacher, esteemed scholar Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan, is a legendary name who has contributed to every brick of our university and trained tens of thousands of students. It is a great honor not only for me but also for all our academic artists to be together under the same roof with him at the same time.”

Stating that Ümit Hassan has always shown a great interest in art as well as his versatile scientific personality, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergün said, “The ‘Fine Arts Teaching Staff Exhibition’, which we will organize in memory of our esteemed teacher Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan, is very meaningful and special for us. We look forward to seeing all the art lovers at the opening of our exhibition to commemorate our dearest teacher, Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan.”
