The “Fine Arts February Exhibition”, consisting of 47 works exclusively made for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts by the faculty members of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Near East University, was opened by the Minister of Economy and Energy, Olgun Amcaoğlu, at the Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Near East University.

The opening speeches were made by the Minister of Economy and Energy, Olgun Amcaoğlu, and the Near East University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ and Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç. Minister of Labor and Social Security Hasan Taçoy and Nicosia Deputy Ahmet Savaşan also attended the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition, which is the 408th exhibition of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and brings together 47 works of art, sculpture, ceramics and prints made by 14 academic artists of the Near East University, can be visited free of charge until June 15.

Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu started his opening speech at the February Exhibition of Fine Arts organized by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts saying “It is a great pleasure for us to have such valuable cultural and artistic events that allow our country to embrace its past and future”. Minister Amcaoğlu stated that all the works brought together with art lovers by the museums opened by the Near East Enterprises and the exhibitions it organized constitute a great integrity for future generations.

In his speech, Tamer Şanlıdağ also reminded the PCR Diagnosis and Variant Analysis Kit developed and produced at the Near East University, the protective nasal spray Olirin, and the Genome Analysis Laboratory, which was opened recently, and said, “All these steps are taken by the Near East University. They are a reflection of our ability to produce science. At the same time, each of these steps we have taken as a requirement of our responsibility to our society, were launched with the aim of strengthening the health infrastructure and capacity of our Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to fight against the pandemic.”
