Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education fall term graduation ceremony for the Academic Year of 2018-2019 has been realised at Orange Hall of the Faculty of Communication.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Vice Rector of Near East University, Assoc Prof Dr Mustafa Kurt, Dean of Atatürk Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Mirici, Institute Heads, Deans, Vice Deans, NEU Academicians guests and students attended the graduation ceremony which was held in a joyful atmosphere.

It was stated that the ceremony began with a minute’s silence for all those who sacrificed their lives for our country, followed by the national anthem. Then, a musical performance was made by Assist Prof Dr Erkan Sülün and Specialist Atakan Sarı from the Atatürk Faculty of Education Department of Music Teaching. Subsequently, speeches were made by Vice Rector of Near East University, Assoc Prof Dr Mustafa Kurt, Dean of Atatürk Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakı Mirici and also graduand who completed his education as first of his department, Erdal Korkmazcan. 

Prof. Dr. Mirici: "Our graduation does not mean the beginning of our separation…”
In his speech, Dean of Atatürk Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakki Mirici, congratulated the students for working hard to complete their higher education in one of the best universities in the area and assured that their graduation did not mean separation and that they would continue to stay in touch.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Mirici, stated that the Near East University would continue to be by their graduates’ side and support them throughout their professional lives. He encouraged the graduands not to hesitate to contact faculty members whenever they needed help.

Near East University has made its mark and became the leading university among the universities in the TRNC on making scientific publications…
In his speech, Vice Rector of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr Mustafa Kurt, emphasised that Near East University had once again made its mark due to its academic success.  Such that, the number of academic publications made by the Near East University outnumbered the other universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC); making the NEU a leading university. Assoc. Prof Dr Kurt wished the graduands best of luck in their career lives and advised them not to lose contact with the Near East University so that they can continue to develop themselves professionally.

Emphasis was placed on quality education…
Making a speech on behalf of the graduating students, Erdal Korkmazcan from the Department of Special Needs Education stated that they have lived to learn the true difference of Near East University over their years of study there. He expressed gratitude to everyone at the NEU for all that they have done and also thanked his family for their support to him.

It was announced that the fall term graduation ceremony for the academic year of 2018-2019 of Atatürk Faculty of Education was completed after the diplomas were awarded to the graduands and the graduation caps were thrown into the air.
