"The Exhibition of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan Artists" consisting of 52 paintings exclusively created for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and exhibited in two exhibitions was opened by Ersin Tatar, President of the National Unity Party.

According to a press statement from the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, the opening of the exhibition at the Near East University Hospital Exhibition Hall was attended by the President of the National Unity Party, Ersin Tatar, member of parliament Aytaç Çaluda, and the Founding Rector Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, vice-rectors, deans, lecturers, artists and guests. At the opening of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University, Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, Rabis Saliakhov on behalf of Tatarstan Artists, Charymyrat Yazamyradov on behalf of Turkmenistan Artists and Ersin Tatar, President of National Unity Party, made a speech.

Professor Dr. Sadıkoğlu: "Activities in the fields of art, education and health are important for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus..."
Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu stating that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is now hosting the 30th exhibition, the Near East University has so far founded 7 museums.

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu said the Tatarstan and Kazakhstan painters, while reflecting the national spirit in a beautiful way, they successfully integrated their works into the international painting trends. Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu said "The artists of the two countries have captured the contemporary trend while reflecting the historical and ethnic style. In the works of Turkmen painters, sun and light are mostly reflected in yellow colors. The painters of Tatarstan reflected dark and blurred colors in their works. So far more than 8,000 works have been collected at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and currently 40 artists from Turkmenistan, Tatarstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are carrying out workshops in our country."

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu also pointed out that Dr. Suat Günsel, Founding Rector of the Near East University, has significant contributions in the selection of painters, inviting them to our country, evaluating the artworks, and in deciding on the size and style of the works they have done. Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu also mentioned about the foundation stages of the museums and stated that they have presented the international El Fergani award in order to promote and the works produced for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and for the international competition held for the painters.

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu said "Investments in the field of art or education are of great importance not only for the Near East University, but also for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In this respect, the university has taken its place with over 1200 international publications in the science-indexed journals."

"We are pleased to be here as Tatarstan Painters..."
Rabis Saliakhov, speaking on behalf of the artists of Tatarstan, expressed his happiness to take part in the exhibition and expressed his gratitude to Dr. Suat İ. Günsel and the Near East Family who have shown a greate effort to bring the art of the Turkic world and their homeland to a new level. Saliakhov said, "No matter how technologically advanced you are, we never know about our future, however, we hope that your energy and power will be transformed into an art temple in Cyprus. We wish everybody health and success in this journey of art."

"Art is building bridges that unite people different cultures..."
Speaking on behalf of the artists of Turkmenistan, Charymyrat Yazamyradov expressed his happiness to contribute to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts together with his Turkicsh brothers.

Stating that human existence itself is an art, Yazamyradov said, "A human being exists to create beauty. You cannot translate art into any world language. On the contrary, it is the art that unites people speaking in different languages. Bridges built by art never collapse. We wish Dr. Suat Günsel to achieve all his goals successfully."


Ersin Tatar: "I congratulate Suat Günsel, the architect of the unification of cultures, and Near East University..."
Ersin Tatar, the leader of the National Unity Party, started his speech saying "It is a beautiful morning for me." and added that when he was a child he was told that the roots of Turkish are in the Central Asia and and that he was longing for seeing his roots and now his dreams turned into a reality.

Ersin Tatar, stating that we are now meeting with our brothers from Tatarstan and Turkmenistan in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, said "Feeling this beauty is the greatest wealth. The root of all of us is Central Asia. The Turks came from Central Asia to Anatolia, and this morning we met with this community of relatives in this beautiful school of education. That's why I'm so happy. I sincerely congratulate all these precious artists. With the strengthening of cultural ties we will be able to live upright in this geography. For the future generations, I wish to continue to unite our powers in support of each other in order to continue to create more beautiful things..."

Following the speeches, the National Union Party President Ersin Tatar presented a plaque of appreciation to the artists from Tatarstan and Turkmenistan. The exhibition of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan Artists, consisting of 27 works of 9 Turkmenistan artists and 25 works of 7 Tatar artists, will be open to visitors at 08.00-17.00 hours on weekdays at the Near East University Hospital Exhibition Hall until 9 May 2019.
