The Exhibition of 35 Art Pieces of 5 Bashkortostan State Artists has been opened at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts

It was announced that the exhibition titled as “Exhibition of Republic of Bashkortostan of Federal Russia”, consisting of 35 art pieces made by 5 Bashkortostan State Artists and prepared especially for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, has been opened by the Leader of the National Unity Party (UBP), Ersin Tatar.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public of Near East University, the exhibition, which includes oil paintings, portraits and landscapes, and is exhibited at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre, was opened by the Leader of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar, and Member of Parliament, Aytaç Çaluda, Vice Rectors of Near east University, Deans, Academicians, Artists from Bashkortostan and guests attended the opening ceremony.

During the opening ceremony of the exhibition of artists of Republic of Bashkortostan of Federal Russia, Vice Rector of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, Honorary Artists of Bashkortostan Vagiz Shayhetdinov and Salavat Gilyazetdinov, and Leader of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar each made a speech.


The Exhibition was realised as a result of international workshops…
In his speech, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, pointed out that the exhibition was realised as a result of initiatives of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and international art workshops.

In addition to the above, Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu expressed that Bashkortostan is a Mukhtar Republic from former Turkish shamans and that the richness of the country is reflected in the art. He further added that painters mainly focused on landscapes, portraits and realism. He emphasised that those who visit the exhibition would be able to see the beauties reflected through the art pieces exhibited. Moreover, he stated that the 5 artists stayed in our country for 10 days and made more than 30 art pieces and thus reflected the natural beauties and the people of Cyprus in their art. He ended his words by wishing everyone to explore around the exhibition with excitement.

Near East University is establishing the Education, Art and Culture Institutions of our country…
On behalf of all the artists involved, the Honorary Artists of Bashkortostan Vagiz Shayhetdinov and Salavat Gilyazetdinov expressed gratitude for being invited to the exhibition. They added that the Near East University established the education, art and culture institutions of the country. Vagiz Şaihetdinov further stated that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts was expanding its resources and has taken significant steps.

He stressed that Dr Suat Günsel was an exceptional individual with all his great initiatives and plans and that he had prepared good working conditions. He also expressed that we were all living in a place rich in history and had beautiful people. He said that they had big plans for the future. He ended his words by expressing many thanks to Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Prof. Dr. Fahreddin Sadıkoğlu and everyone else involved for giving them inspiration.

“Cyprus is rich in culture and beautiful locals…”
On the other hand, Salavat Gilyazetdinov stated that as artists from Bashkortostan became a part of the Turkish Cypriots’ lives and really internalised with them.

Gilyazetdinov added that Cyprus was very rich in culture, history and local people. He stressed that they were very pleased to be in Cyprus. He also expressed his good wishes and said “Let our works bring you joy and be part of the culture of your country. I wish your light to stay with Turkey for centuries”.

He gave examples of sayings from his own culture and said that gold is said to be controlled with fire, and that you cannot catch a bull by holding its horns or its tail. In this regard, he proudly stated that what Near East University did was as valuable as catching a bull from its horns. In other words, he expressed that the Near East University hosted them quite well and shared their valuable dreams and that they perceived this to be an indication of trust and respect. He ended his words by expressing good wishes and health.


Ersin Tatar,Leader of National Unity Party, "Near East University made its mark regarding the promotion of the country culture"
During his speech, Leader of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar expressed that Near East University made its mark regarding the promotion of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and its culture. He stated that events such as this exhibition was rather significant in these terms.

Moreover, Ersin Tatar emphasised how happy he was to see artists here in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the interest they had shown in art and culture of our country; and thanked all the artists for being here. Furthermore, he stressed that Near East University had made its mark via many significant projects and has taken steps in the promotion of our country.

Tatar also stated that he was happy to be at the exhibition as the exhibition acted as a gateway to the world. He stressed that seeing the close and good relationship between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus community and Bashkortostan made the Turkish Cypriots rather happy.

Additionally, Ersin Tatar expressed that the Turkish Cypriot community had encountered many injustice and isolations. In this regard, he expressed that he saw events such as this exhibition as a gateway to the world-helping to overcome the obstacles and embargoes in our way. Ersin Tatar ended his words by expressing congratulations to Near East University for realising such an event and his hope to see more events alike in the future.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held…
It was stated that subsequent to the speeches, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held by Leader of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar, NEU Authorities and artists. It was also pointed out that the exhibition was open to visit until 14th March 2019 during 10.00-12.00 on week days.
