It was revealed that the exhibition of 30 pieces of 6 artists especially created for the inventory of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts has been opened by the Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the opening ceremony of the exhibition was held in Exhibition Hall of Faculty of Dentistry to which Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu; Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Rector of Özay Günsel Children’s University Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli, Vice Rectors, Deans, Academicians, Artists and guests attended.

Furthermore, it was stated that Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, Yesmgaley Zhumanov, on behalf of the Kazakh artists, and Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu each made a speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Near East University is making creations at world standards…
Making the opening speech of the exhibition, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu provided details regarding realisations of the University. Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu stated that the Günsel family has made many achievements in education and health at world standards within Northern Cyprus. He pointed that Near East University has made publications in more than 1200 indexed journals and positioned itself as third among the universities in Turkey. On the other hand, realisations in the field of health have reached world standards. Furthermore, he stated that Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts was an outstanding step taken by Near East University in terms of culture and art. He emphasised that the museum will be a museum consisting of works by Turkic World artists and that currently it has 8 thousand art pieces. Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu added that 500 Turkish artists from the Chinese border to France came to North Cyprus and prepared artworks. Moreover, he expressed that this was the exhibition of 6th group coming from Kazakhstan. Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu pointed out that said that the art, culture, history and monumental structures of the nomad Turks were reflected in the works of the Kazakh artists.


A Mission That Unites Turkish Culture and Their People is being realised…
Speaking on behalf of the Kazakh artists Yesmgaley Zhumanov expressed that the unity of the Turkic people is important for both now and the future generations. Moreover, he stated that the richness of the culture and tradition of Turkish people is reflected through art. Furthermore, he said that art has a positive impact on our hearts and minds; and in a global world, ethnic origin of culture and consciousness was destructed and the only way to stop this was through art.

Zhunamov expressed many thanks to Dr. Suat Günsel on behalf of the Kazakh artists. Furthermore, he stated that the activities that are carried out with the intention of uniting the Turkish culture and peoples constituted a mission. He also pointed out that thanks to the hospitality on the island of Cyprus, they had a good time in art in terms of productivity and personal development. He ended his words by stating that they will never forget their experience in Cyprus.

Minister Sucuoğlu: “Near East University is promoting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the world in the best possible way…”
Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu began his speech by reminding Suat Günsel’s words stating that he was planning to raise the standard of art in Northern Cyprus to state that those who are in favour will be extremely pleased while others with bad intentions are sure to get very jealous. Faiz Sucuoğlu stated that now that this standard is raised, he was anxiously waiting to see what further contributions Suat Günsel will make to the country.

Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu emphasised that Suat Günsel achieved his set goals in a short period of time for the service of the Turkish Cypriots and he was rather pleased to see that with interventions made in the fields of education, health and art, it was promoting Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the best possible way. He further asserted that Near East University brings together scientists and artists from many different countries of the world with successful projects in the field of science and art.

Faiz Sucuoğlu thanked Near East University for accomplishing a great need of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus by bringing Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts to life; overcoming a fully felt need. In this regard, he expressed gratitude to Near East University. He said that art was a perspective to life and through this there was love and embrace. He also expressed that artists were people who need to be respected highly since they add beauty to the world they live in and added that works of art are the most important assets of a culture.

Sucuoğlu stated that developed societies are ones who reached peak at art and in this regard, he thanked everyone who made an effort and contributed to the development of art in our country.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented, and the exhibition was officially opened…
Subsequent to the speeches, certificates of presentation were presented to Kazakh artists by the Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu. Then the opening ribbon was cut, and the exhibition was opened officially. The exhibition, which reflects the nature and family concept of Kazakh painters via their unique techniques, is open to visit until 15th June 2019 during 08.00-16.00.
