The Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces, Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım, visited the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the Republic Day Exhibition

The Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces (CTPF)), Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım, visited the Republic Day Exhibition at the Cyprus Arts Center and the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which are both located in the Museums Zone on the Near East University Campus.
According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, during the visit, the Commander of Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces, Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım was accompanied by Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel, Vice Rector Professor Fahreddin Sadıkoğlu, NEU General Coordinator Görkem Bulunç and Associate Professor Erdoğan Ergün, the curator of the Republic Day Exhibition.

Within the scope of his visit, the Commander of Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces, Major General Yıldırım first visited the Cyprus Arts Center at Atatürk Culture and Congress Center and toured the Republic Day Exhibition, which features 103 artworks created by 38 talented artists from Near East University. He was also provided with information about the artworks.

Expressing his admiration to the artworks at the Republic Day Exhibition and the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, the Commander of Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces, Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım said that the artworks exhibited at Cyprus Arts Center as well as Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts were very impressive.

Underlining the crucial role of arts in adding color, vividness and a new dimension to social life, Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel stated that all events held within the scope of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts had a key role in promoting artistic creativity of Turkish Cypriot people to wider populations as well as in sharing the cultural identity with national and international environments. He also highlighted the importance of modern museums in preserving artworks and conveying our artistic values, historical and cultural heritage to future generations.

At the end of the visit, a painting reflecting the meaning and importance of the day was presented to the Commander of Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces, Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım, by the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel.
