The 2023 summer term programs of the “Occupational Health and Safety Specialist” trainings carried out by the Near East University are starting. The trainings approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security will start on June 6, 2023. Applications can be made until June 2 to participate in the training programs.

Theoretical and practical training will be given in four training programs…
Within the scope of the Occupational Health and Safety training given by the Near East University, “Basic Occupational Health and Safety Training”, “General Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Training”, “Construction Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Training” and “Occupational Health and Safety Trainer Training” program will be carried out on four main subjects. Practical applications will also be included in the trainings, through which basic theoretical information about occupational health and safety is given.

Specialization trainings aiming to train Occupational Health and Safety Specialists are given by the expert training staff of Near East University in accordance with the curriculum determined by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. In the training program subjects such as occupational risk factors and protection measures, health surveillance at workplaces, occupational accidents and occupational diseases, risk assessment in workplaces, duties, responsibilities and obligations of employers and employees, occupational health and safety legislation, and occupational health and safety management and organization are included.

Aziz Gürpınar, Occupational Health and Safety Program Director and OHS Specialist, stated that Near East University fulfills the requirements in the Regulation on Certification of Persons Providing Occupational Health and Safety Services and Authorization of Institutions, and reminded that Near East University was authorized as the Educational Institution of Health and Safety.

Gürpınar said, “The Occupational Health and Safety Law imposes important duties and responsibilities on employers in addition to the state’s inspections and sanctions. One of them is to receive support from qualified and expert personnel in the execution of occupational health and safety services in the workplaces. The content of the courses for the training of personnel is as required by the Regulation on the Certification of Occupational Health and Safety Service Providers and Authorization of Organizations, which was enacted under the law. As the Near East University, our application, which we made by fulfilling all these issues, was approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security after the necessary evaluations, and our University was authorized as the Occupational Health and Safety Educational Institution to carry out all the trainings specified in the bylaws.”

Stating that the Near East University provides these trainings in the best way with its expert instructor staff, Gürpınar said that thanks to these studies, qualified personnel in the field of occupational health and safety are trained and these personnel serve in the workplaces, and they play an important role in creating a safer working environment in our country.
