Published by the Near East University Hospital to provide contemporary information and up to date treatments in the field of health, the 9th edition of the magazine titled as “Near Health” has been published recently.
According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, it was announced that the free of charge magazine published by the Near East University Hospital has been published in Turkish and English, once again, to provide its readers advancements in the field of health; including significant developments which many people are expected to benefit from.
It was announced that the Near East University Hospital commenced publishing the Near Health magazine with the aim to provide its readers, our valuable people, present-day information and improved treatments in the field of health. Furthermore, it was explained that the magazine was prepared by the health specialists and highly experienced physicians of the Near East University Hospital. Moreover, it was stated that continuing to work with the aforementioned aim, the Near East University authorities have proudly stressed that the 9th edition of the magazine has been published full and rich in information-prepared to create awareness on issues related to health.
The special file of the magazine is on “Child Health and Diseases”
In the 9th edition of the magazine, where the Near East University Hospital specialist doctors have shared their accumulated knowledge, there is a special file which in this edition focuses on “Child Health and Diseases”. It comprises health matters related to premature babies, Hypertension in Children, Development and Developmental Problems in early Childhood Period, Viral Diseases in Children, Kidney Development in Embryos, Foreign Body Aspiration in Infants, and Paediatric Anaesthesia. In addition to the above, the 9th issue also has information on microbiology, dermatology, cardiology psychology, internal diseases, urology, surgery, gynaecological diseases and birth, oncology and matters concerning physical therapy, emergency services, laser, allergies, sleep and thoracic diseases.

Reasons and treatments of certain diseases such as anthrax disease, eczema on hand, acne, earaches, swelling in the upper abdomen, backaches, acute haemorrhoid crises, sore eye are provided in the Near Health magazine. Also, details regarding epilepsy symptoms, bladder cancer, hypnobirthing, hypertension, cancer, myelodysplastic syndrome, coronary artery diseases, dementia and Alzheimer`s Disease, myoma symptoms and treatments, infections during autumn and winter months and prevention methods, arrhythmia and sudden cardiac deaths are provided in this issue. To add, information on anaesthesia and herbal products, vaccination suggestions for adults, recovery methods from the flu, aspirin usage, laser epilation and sleep test and tips on what to do for trauma are also available.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan Günsel: “We aim to contribute to the awareness on health…”
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, made a statement and expressed that the 9th edition of Near Health included contemporary issues in the field of health and information regarding the developments at Near East University Hospital. He added that they were rather proud and happy that this issue was published since the beginning they, as the Near East University, were aiming to increase the public`s awareness on health. Furthermore, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, made a promise that the NEU will be continuing to work hard until the everything required in the filed of health was completed.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel emphasised that they highly prioritised public health and stated that this was the reason why the Near East University was continuously organising conferences on the matter; pointing out the significance of early diagnosis and how this could save lives. He said that they were aware that our public highly valued science and therefore, the Near East University was providing latest technologies for the service of the public.
In addition to the above, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel stated that they always worked hard to be a step ahead of the currently available in the health sector, with the determination to provide the best and high quality in health as a contribution to the health tourism in the island. Moreover, he stated that they had always put forward effort to raise the standards of all striving to continue their existence. He made a promise that the Near East University is to continue to work hard in this direction in its highly technological laboratories.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, ended his words by stating that they were quite determined to continue to be successful and to proceed on the path of making achievements regarding offering latest technological equipment for the service of patients.
