The 3rd International Cinema Symposium, organized by the Near East University Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, and the Communication Studies Research Center, will be held on 8-12 May 2023 with the theme of “Culture-Identity-Ideology”. Reputed artists and academics from the world’s leading communication and cinema schools will be hosted as invited speakers at the symposium to be organized with the support of more than fifty universities, official institutions and cinema institutions from the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Turkic Republics. Among the guests of the Cinema Symposium this year, Prof. Dr. Belkıs Ayhan Tarhan, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Makal, and well-known film critic and writer Vecdi Sayar and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdolhossein Laleh will take place.

This year’s theme: Culture, Identity and Ideology
Turkish and English papers will be presented at the 3rd International Cinema Symposium, in which prominent names from distinguished universities of Turkey and the TRNC are taking part in the Organizing Committee. In the symposium, which will be organized in a hybrid form, papers from science branches other than cinema will be accepted, provided that they are related to this year’s theme, which is determined as “Culture, Identity, Ideology”. The abstract acceptance process for the symposium will be carried out on the symposium’s website (https://usc2023.neu.edu.tr/).
