The “1st International NEU DESAM Biotechnology Congress”, which will bring together 112 researchers from 11 country and 19 universities in the TRNC, is starting!

The “1st International NEU DESAM Biotechnology Congress” to be held by the Near East University DESAM Research Institute will start on Thursday, October 17 at the Irfan Günsel Congress Center. The congress, which will bring together important names in the field in the TRNC with the organization of Dorana Turizm, will present host studies conducted by 112 researchers from 11 countries and 19 universities. Researchers from the USA, Germany, Austria, the United Arab Emirates, China, Iran, the TRNC, Kosovo, Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey will participate in the congress.

As one of the most dynamic fields of modern science, biotechnology, which stands out with its potential to improve human life, is at the intersection of many disciplines such as genetic engineering, cell biology and microbiology. It plays a critical role in extending human life and improving the quality of life by offering a wide range of solutions from the development of new drugs to the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

DESAM Research Institute, which brings together academicians specialized in many fields such as medicine, dentistry, health sciences, veterinary medicine, artificial intelligence, mathematics and engineering and pioneers innovative and multidisciplinary research, aims to provide an important platform for experts from different fields of biotechnology to share their latest findings, developments and strategies with the congress.


Areas shaped by biotechnology will be discussed!

The opening of the congress to be held at the Near East University will also be attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mentor Alishani, Rector of Prizren Ukshin Hoti University from Kosovo. Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Rector of Istanbul Technical University (ITU), who is also the former President of TÜBİTAK, will give a speech titled “Developing Biotechnology for a Sustainable Future with a Co-Creation and Co-Achievement Approach” at the congress.

The four-day congress will feature sessions on Medical Biotechnology, Microbial Biotechnology, DESAM, Artificial Intelligence and the New Era of Biotechnology, Molecular Biotechnology and Food Biotechnology. A reception will be held at the Cyprus Car Museum on the first evening of the congress.
