The 1st International Cinema Symposium, held by the Near East University Communication Research Center, has started

The 1st International Cinema Symposium titled “The Relationship between Culture, Cinema and Culture in the Language of Cinema”, held by the Near East University Faculty of Communication and the Communication Research Center (ILAM), has started. On the first day of the symposium, 4 sessions and 11 papers were presented. In addition, the Digital Photography Exhibition was opened as part of the events.

At the opening ceremony of the symposium, Near East University Communication Faculty Radio-Television and Cinema Department Head and 1st International Cinema Symposium Organizing Committee President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap, President of the Turkic World Culture, Art and Cinema Foundation Menderes Demir, Dean of the Faculty of Cinema and Television of Azerbaijan State Civilization Ince Art University Prof. Dr. Elnur Mehdiyet, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. İlyas Gökhan and Uzbekistan Tashkent Institute of Civilization and Art Rector Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Yoldashov delivered speeches.

On the first day of the symposium, 11 papers were presented in 4 sessions
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap said that on the first day of the 1st International Cinema Symposium, a total of 11 papers were presented in 4 sessions on the economic and cultural structure of cinema, re-understanding the Yeşilçam cinema, the relationship between cinema and space, and sound design in cinema.

A strong light was shed on Turkish cinema on the first day of the cinema symposium, where the effects of cinema on culture, cinema festivals and funds, Yeşilçam Cinema and the audience profile, censorship in Turkish cinema, professional make-up in cinema, city-space relationship in the axis of photography and cinema, and sound design in cinema were discussed.

On the other hand, the Digital Photography Exhibition, which was prepared as part of the 1st International Cinema Symposium organized in cooperation with the Near East University Faculty of Communication and Communication Research Center, was presented to art lovers online.

43 exhibitors from 5 countries participated at the digital photography exhibition
Prof. Dr. Ali Muhammet Bayraktaroğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap, Assist. Prof. Dr. Birsel Matara, Dr. Serkan Fundalar, Gazi Yüksel, İlke Veral Coşkuner, Orhan Cem Çetiner and Fuat Boğaç Evren participated in the online exhibition as the selection committee, and 43 participants from 5 countries sent works. As a result of the evaluation made by the selection committee, 51 photographs from 23 participants were deemed worthy to be exhibited.
