TEKNOFEST Drone Championship 1st Stage will be held on April 26-27, 2025 at NEU Event Park on the Near East University campus. In the competition, which will push the limits of speed and agility in the sky and is organized by STM, solo pilots will compete with FPV (First Person View) system racing drones.
Drones participating in the competition will be 180 mm to 250 mm in diameter, operating on a maximum battery voltage of 6S (22.2V) and have carbon fiber frame features. Flights will only be carried out with drones equipped with an analog video transmission system. HD system use will not be allowed in the competition. In order to prevent frequency conflicts, pilots will compete at VTX frequencies determined by the organization and VTX output power will be limited to 25 mW. Competitors will prepare their quadcopters with all system components such as ESC, flight controller, motor, propeller and receiver in accordance with the technical requirements of the organization before the race. While drones that pose a security risk or do not comply with the rules will not be included in the competition by the technical committee, all pilots will be asked to fully comply with the determined technical and safety rules throughout the race.
In the competition, which will be held based on the elimination method, first the qualifying rounds will be held, then the pilots who achieve the best ranking will compete in the elimination rounds. The competitor who ranks at the end of all stages will earn the right to participate in the World Drone Cup, which will represent our country in the international arena. This year, 32 teams that successfully complete the preliminary evaluation process in the competition, where a total of 182 teams applied, will compete in the 1st Stage, the TRNC leg. Young technology enthusiasts who will come from 14 different provinces of Turkey will compete fiercely in the drone championship.
Within the scope of the championship, where each competitor is provided with a set of engines as material support, the top winner will be awarded 30 thousand TL, the second place winner 20 thousand TL and the third place winner 10 thousand TL.
