The Atatürk Faculty of Education at Near East University hosted a meaningful event that provided students with a platform to have a say in faculty life. The “Ask, Share, Listen: Meeting with the Dean” program, held for the first time at the Grand Library, provided a friendly and interactive environment where students could directly express their ideas, suggestions, and experiences.

At the event, which attracted a large turnout, students posed questions about their educational programs, faculty opportunities, personal development opportunities, and professional goals to Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl, Dean of the Atatürk Faculty of Education. The event, which fostered a constructive dialogue, allowed students to express themselves and better understand academic processes.

Nature and melody meet with “Art Vibrations”…

Participants were enriched spiritually and culturally by spending a day immersed in the silence of nature and the rhythm of music.

Future teachers must be creative and innovative!
Addressing prospective teachers at the “Ask, Share, Listen: Meeting with the Dean” program, Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl, Dean of the Atatürk Faculty of Education at Near East University, advised, “Reach out to children more, create change, leave a mark. Be different, be creative.” Prof. Dr. Akçıl also emphasized the need to adapt to technological advancements. Prof. Dr. Akçıl said, “Teachers and technology are now intertwined, artificial intelligence cannot replace teachers, teachers will manage and use this technology. Chalk and blackboards have given way to whiteboards and markers over the years, these too will transform into technology.”

Prof. Dr. Akçıl also highlighted the innovations awaiting teachers, saying, “Teachers will no longer just be imparters of knowledge, but also guides who unleash students’ creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Educators who embrace this change will shape the future of both their students and society.”
