Students from Güzelyurt Discovered Their Future!

Approximately 100 students from Güzelyurt Kurtuluş High School spent an unforgettable day on the Near East University campus. The students, who experienced and discovered the campus facilities, also visited the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the Cyprus Car Museum as part of the trip.

The first stop of the students throughout the cultural tour was the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. The students, who closely examined a rich collection of paintings and sculptures consisting of works by artists from 14 Turkish communities, also took a close interest in the ship models, glassware collection, and sword collection.

Then, the students visited the Cyprus Car Museum, which is among the most important automobile museums in the world, and examined the classic and sports cars with great interest. The Cyprus Car Museum has nearly 200 cars from every period of its 100-year history from the early 1900s to the 2000s. In addition to the rich automobile collection, the students also examined toys, model cars, Batman and Transformers figures, and pedal vehicles with interest.

They experienced the opportunities of Near East University on site!

Güzelyurt Kurtuluş High School students who visited the museums on the Near East University campus learned about the university’s opportunities and had the opportunity to experience these opportunities on-site. Students of Güzelyurt Kurtuluş High School also visited the Health Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Science and Literature and Education, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Communication faculties as part of the campus tour.

Güzelyurt Kurtuluş High School Guidance Counselor Gözde Tunçbel Çiftçi, who spoke regarding their visit to the Near East University campus, said, “It was an inspiring experience for our students. The trip we organized added great value to their cultural, personal and academic development.” Gözde Tunçbel Çiftçi emphasized that the works of art on the campus in particular had a great impact on the students. Çiftçi stated that the students asked many questions with great interest and their curiosity about different subjects increased during the trip, and said, “This situation also shows their desire to learn and their desire to discover.” Çiftçi stated that they want to add workshops to the trips to be organized in the future, and said, “Our students gained an important vision of university life by observing the dynamic campus life on site. We think that practical activities will be much more productive for our students. In the following years, we want to organize workshops that are suitable for their interests and talents, and allow them to express themselves better and develop their talents.”
