7 exhibitions consisting of 248 artworks exclusively made for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts by Ukranian, Kazakh and Tajik artists were opened. The exhibitions consisted of Ukrainian artists Ihor Yurchenko's print painting exhibition titled 'Space Form', Solomiia Dorosh's print painting exhibition titled 'Wind from the east", Kateryna Ocheredko's print painting exhibition titled 'My symbol', Tetiana Ocheredko's painting exhibition titled 'My life' and Mykhailo Drimailo's print painting exhibition titled 'Horizon', Kazakhstan artist Georgiy Makarov's exhibition titled "Sleeping - Vision Labyrinths" consisting of 20 paintings and 35 exclusively made artworks, and Pairav Gulov's painting exhibition consisting of 20 artworks opened at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center exhibition hall.

Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ.Günsel, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, institute directors, deans, lecturers, artists and invitees attended to the opening ceremony.

At the exhibition, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Tajik artist Pairav Gulov, Ukrainian artists Mykhailo Drimailo, Tetiana Ocheredko, Kateryna Ocheredko, Solomiia Dorosh, Ihor Yurchenko and Kazakh artist Georgiy Makarov made speeches.

Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdaü, who said that giving depth and intensity to life is the core of art, started his opening remarks by saying “If art is the hope of people, the artists are special people who give life to this hope and unite cultures. The artists are people who enliven life and make it attractive. Courage and nobility are at the highest level in them. They never compromise and have a single motivation; Creating a meaningful and worth doing artwork.”

Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ stated that brother and fellow peoples knotted together through the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project, and that 294th exhibitions were added to the international exhibitions held for more than a year up to today, and that more than 2000 artists and 25,000 artworks were produced. Our artists are recognized and awarded artists in their countries and all over the world. Today, our university will give the Dodurbek Award to Pairav Gulov and the Silver Key Award to other artists. I would like to thank all our artists for their contributions to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, congratulate them for the awards they received, and wish all the art lovers a nice time.”

Tetiana Ocheredko said, “At first, dear Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat Günsel, I would like to thank for inviting us to be a part of this amazing project. Today, I am sharing my graphic exhibition called "Heritage", which I have created as I have inspired by the beautiful nature and architecture of Cyprus. In this exhibition, I tried to share my thoughts on what we get and what we produce. It is a great honor for me to be here. Thank you to everyone who was with us and supported us.”

Ihor Yurchenko; “After becoming part of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts project, we got a better understanding of how important this project is. We worked, produced, and had new friends while we were here. On the other hand, we also had the opportunity to touch the rich history and nature of Cyprus. This gave us a different inspiration. I especially thank Dr. Suat Günsel for her kind invitation and the opportunity provided for us to be a part of this unique and magnificent project.”

Georgiy Makarov; “Every artist has the ability to transform his world into colors and lines in reflection of his ideas”
Georgiy Makarov; “This exhibition is the result of the symposium held under the roof of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and our stay in Cyprus. It was a great pleasure for me to work in the same workshop with the artist from Tajikistan, Payrav, to meet with artists from Ukraine, and to see the process of creating amazing graphic works. It was also nice to work in such a creative atmosphere. Each artist has the ability to transform colors and lines reflecting his ideas in his own world. Every artist is a diamond. I am happy to be with such professionals and open an exhibition."

After the speeches, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ gave the "DOGDURBEK NURGAZİEV" award, which is given to young artists within the scope of Alasia Awards in honor of the Kyrgyzstan State Artist Dogdurbek Nurgaziev, to Tajikistani artist Pairav Gulov, and Kazakh artist Georgiy Makarov and Ukrainian artists Ihor Yurchenko, Solomiia Dorosh, Kateryna Ochkoate, Kateryna Ochkoered, and Mykhailo Drimailo were presented the Silver Key Honor Award. The exhibition ribbons were then cut. The exhibitions can be visited between 08.00-16.00 at the exhibition halls of the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center until March 20, 2020.
