Accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Alkan, the Security Forces Commander Brigadier General Tevfik Algan visited Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Cyprus Arts Center and Cyprus Car Museum that located in the Museums Zone of Near East University Campus.
Near East University Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office released that Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel along with Vice Rector Professor Fahreddin Sadıkoğlu welcomed the Security Forces Commander Brigadier General Tevfik Algan and his spouse Mrs. Algan and the Chief Staff Colonel Osman along with his spouse.

The Security Forces Commander Brigadier General Tevfik Algan and his spouse Mrs. Algan and the Chief Staff Colonel Osman along with his spouse first visited the Cyprus Arts Center at Atatürk Culture and Congress Center and toured the Republic Day Exhibition, which features 103 artworks created by 38 talented artists from Near East University.

Then, the Security Forces Commander and his accompanying delegations visited Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and Cyprus Car Museum and received information about the artworks and mission of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and rare classical and sports automobiles exhibited in Cyprus Car Museum.

Underlining that the reality of art is to pursue and perceive reality beyond what is visible, the Founding Rector Suat Günsel expressed his views: "Near East University, which has left her mark over the world in education, science, research, innovation, technology and health, attaches great importance on arts and culture. Being aware that museums have a crucial role in preserving and reflecting the historical, cultural and artistic accumulation for all generations, Near East University attaches a special importance on museums in terms of adding vividness and color to social and cultural life. Aiming to add a new dimension to the culture and art life of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Near East University has established the Cyprus Car Museum and Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts within her body. All events held within the scope of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts have a key role in promoting our country’s artistic creativity to wider populations as well as in sharing the cultural identity with national and international art environments and ensuring the recording and preservation of artworks” noted he.

Underlining his admiration to the museums, the Security Commander Brigadier General Tevfik Algan stated that the museums were much more impressive and tremendous than he could imagine. "Every tourist visiting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus definitely needs to pass through here" said he.

At the end of the visit, the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel presented the Security Commander Brigadier General Tevfik Algan and Staff Colonel Osman Akyıldız a painting of Turkish Cypriot artists reflecting the meaning and importance of the day.
