The “40th ANKEM Congress on Rational Antibiotic Use” to be held in collaboration with the Near East University and the Antibiotics and Chemotherapy Association will be hosted by the Near East University between May 8-11.

Antibiotics, humanity’s strongest shield against bacteria, are no longer as “strong” as they used to be due to their unconscious and widespread use. With bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics, the superiority that humans have established over bacteria is now very close to ending! The Antibiotics and Chemotherapy Association (ANKEM) has been working to raise awareness about this problem for many years. Near East University, on the other hand, has made a name for itself with its “bacteriophage” studies, which are the most important alternative solutions in the fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Near East University and ANKEM will join forces to hold the “ANKEM Congress on Rational Antibiotic Use” to be held for the 40th time this year in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Meeting before the congress, Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ and ANKEM Association President Prof. Dr. Bülent Gürler, provided detailed information about the preparations for the successful realization of the congress and the content of the event.
