Science and art will meet once again at Near East University: On Wednesday, May 29, following the Academic Promotion Ceremony, two exhibitions will be opened at the same time.

Following the Academic Promotion Ceremony to be held at Near East University on Wednesday, May 29, at 16.00; “Fine Arts May Exhibition” and “Campus Life Photography Exhibition” will be opened at 18.00 by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall.
Near East University’s achievements in science and art will be rewarded and celebrated on the same day. In the first of the events to be held on Wednesday, May 29, the academicians who are entitled to academic promotion in 2023 and 2024 will be presented with their documents. More than 80 academicians who are entitled to assistant professor, associate professor and professor titles will receive certificates at the Academic Promotion Ceremony, which will start at 16.00 at Atatürk Culture and Congress Center.

Following the Academic Promotion Ceremony, at 18.00, the “Fine Arts May Exhibition”, which will bring together 50 works of award-winning academic artists, and the “Life on Campus” photography contest, organized in cooperation with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and Near East University, will be exhibited. “Photography Exhibition” will be opened by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall. At the opening of the exhibition, awards will be presented to the photographers who won the Campus Life Photography Competition.

These exhibitions, which are the 460th and 461st exhibitions of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, can be visited free of charge until June 12.

At the Academic Promotion Ceremony, we will honor our faculty members who contribute to the development of our university with their scientific studies. We will share the fascinating power of art with art lovers through the exhibitions that will be opened afterwards.”

Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Near East University and Director of GÜNSEL Art Museum, who is the curator of the “Fine Arts May Exhibition” and “Campus Life Photography Exhibition” to be opened on Wednesday, May 29th, Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün said, “We welcome everyone to our exhibitions that will bring together the unique perspectives and talents of artists and photographers from different disciplines.”

Prof. Dr. Ergün, who is also the Advisor to the Rector of Near East University, also touched upon the “Academic Promotion Ceremony” to be held on the same day and emphasized that Near East University strengthens its bond with the society by combining science and art.
