Protocol signed with the Ministry of National Education and Culture by the decision of the Günsel Family Board to establish 6 Primary Schools and transfer them to the state in 6 districts of the TRNC

A protocol was signed with the Ministry of National Education and Culture for 6 primary schools that the Günsel Family decided to build in each of the 6 districts of our country and hand them over to the Ministry of National Education and Culture Primary Education Department. 6 schools, all of which will be established by the Günsel Family, will be transferred to the Primary Education Department Directorate to serve within the Ministry of National Education, free of charge.

Primary schools to be built in Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Güzelyurt, İskele and Lefke will have a capacity of 300 students.

With the protocol signed today between the Near East Enterprises and the TRNC Ministry of Education and Culture to carry out the "6 Schools for 6 Districts" project, the project has officially started. The protocol was signed by TRNC Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu and Near East Enterprises Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel.

The aim of the protocol was explained as follows; "The aim of the protocol is to provide a full-fledged primary school to each district by the Near East Enterprises in cooperation with the Ministry in order to contribute to the development of the TRNC in the field of education and to meet the primary school needs of the Ministry." In accordance with the protocol, the investments required for the necessary equipment and infrastructure to establish the 6 primary schools will be covered by the Near East Enterprises. The Ministry of Education and Culture will undertake the legal processes of the projects, the determination of the regions that need schools and the construction of the transportation infrastructure of the schools.

TRNC National Education and Culture Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu and Near East Enterprises Board of Trustees Chairman Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel commented on the project at the protocol ceremony.

TRNC Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu stated that they continue to work to strengthen the educational infrastructure of the country, and said that the decision to build six primary schools in six districts by the Günsel Family will make a great contribution to this. Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu, by addressing Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, said “Your investments and the steps you take are a sign for the whole society. You draw attention to the importance of national education. It makes us very happy that you both invest in education and contribute to the educational infrastructure of the state." Minister Amcaoğlu said that this step taken by the Günsel Family will be a very important starting point for the Ministry of National Education and Culture and the country, and said, “As a parent and Minister of National Education and Culture, I would like to thank the Günsel Family and the Near East Family on behalf of our education community and our children. I sincerely thank you.”

In his speech at the beginning of ceremony, Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel said; "We want to contribute to our country where we were born, grew up and want to take roots as a member of the Near East Family." Near East Enterprises Board of Trustees Chairman Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, reminding that they decided to build six primary schools in each of the six districts of our country with the decision taken by the Günsel Family Board, said that the Ministry of National Education and Culture gave a very rapid and effective support for the implementation of the project.
