As part of the Five Capitals Five Exhibitions Project, which was planned for the academic year of 2015-2016, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Near East University has opened its first exhibition, Projection-A, in Gallery Çankaya, Ankara.

According to the press info release from the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, fifty seven pieces-consisting of art work, sculptures, ceramic, graphic designs (short-film, photographic, illustration, stencil graphite, print art) alongside 13 short-films shot with stop-motion technique are displayed at the exhibition. It was revealed that Projection-B will be held at Baku, Azerbaijan on 24th November, 2015.

At the opening speech which the Acting Dean of NEU Faculty of Fine Arts and Design made, he said: “The last exhibition we held was in Nicosia on the 10th Anniversary of the Foundation of our Faculty. Today, we are honoured to be opening the first of our exhibitions as part of the Five Capitals Five Exhibitions Project at the Capital of Turkey. I strongly believe that an international exhibition as such could only be realised with the support and directions of a great university like Near East University. In this regard, we feel lucky, honoured and proud to be realising this exhibition under the body of Near East University.”

Also making a speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Deputy Mayor of Çankaya Municipality, Gülsün Bor Güner said: “Today, we are hosting one of the most significant events to be held at our district, we are hosting Projection-A exhibition which is organised by NEU Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. We believe that this exhibition will be exemplary to others due both to content and efforts in terms of organising the exhibition. Art has always been a means of transferring local and universal cultures and ideas via different forms. Considering that this is the first of the exhibitions to follow as part of the Five Capitals Five Exhibitions Project of NEU Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, makes us even prouder and honoured to be hosting their first exhibition and being a means of proving such a valuable exhibition to art lovers in Ankara. I, on be half of Çankaya Municipality, would like to express many thanks to the Rectorship of Near East University and to all those involved in actualising this exhibition. We are hoping to cooperate in future events and organisations to bring art into the lives of the community.”
