Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Faculty Member Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur’s solo exhibition titled “Nature Reflections”, exclusively prepared for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, was opened at the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry Exhibition Hall with the participation of President Ersin Tatar. “Nature Reflections”, which is the 384th exhibition of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and will be open to visitors until October 30, consists of 55 works in total, including 30 prints, 23 charcoal sketches and 2 canvas paintings.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, President Ersin Tatar, Head of Museums Department of the Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul and Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Lecturer Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur gave speeches.

After the speeches, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur received the “Hârizmî” award given to printmaking artists by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts as part of the Alasia Awards, from President Ersin Tatar. The artist opened the bust prepared for her together with President Tatar and Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel.

Reminding that he opened the “Fine Arts Maritime Exhibition” and “Ship Models Exhibition” held at the Near East Art Museum in honor of Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel’s 40th birthday at the weekend, President Ersin Tatar expressed his happiness at the opening of the “Nature Reflections” exhibition. . President Ersin Tatar emphasized that each art exhibition is of great importance for the coming days.

Emphasizing that the TRNC is becoming a country that is getting richer every day in terms of culture and art and that these beauties should be protected, President Tatar said, “Our country is taking firm steps towards the future with the artistic works produced by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.”

Referring to the Fine Arts Maritime Exhibition and the Ship Models Exhibition, which was opened on October 9, President Ersin Tatar said, “All the artifacts unearthed about maritime and shipping reveal our history in the Blue Homeland Mediterranean. It is a great service to humanity to be able to paint the beauties of this homeland, which we can see thanks to tens of thousands of martyrs given by the Ottoman navy in 1571, in these exhibitions and carry it to the future.”

President Ersin Tatar said that works of art emerged with great effort and brought a completely different perspective by appealing to the human spirit, and said, “I thank the Founding Rector of Near East University, who helped us carry these works, which emerged as a result of the creativity of humanity, to the future, and who never spared his efforts. I would like to thank all the Near East Family, especially Dr. Suat Günsel.”

Starting his speech by defining art and referring to saying of Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat Günsel, “Art is the definition of humanity”, Director of Museums Department of the Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul said, “We are aware of this and have made art a part of our society’s daily life. In this direction, we have provided all our people with opportunities to visit our museums and see the works of art closely.”

Stating that they created contemporary art spaces that they will be proud of, live and protect for years for the people of the TRNC, Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul said, “We have combined science, technology, history, culture and art. We promote the TRNC by announcing it through art all over the world, especially in the Turkic world. The presence of works of artists belonging to 14 Turkic states and societies in our museums brings the Turkic world together under the umbrella of Near East Enterprises Museums.”

Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur: “I created my exhibition with the idea that the forms in nature come before the artistic form.”
Stating that nature has been an inspiring source for artists and designers since the existence of art, Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Faculty Member Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur said, “How nature reveals a texture, a created form or a symmetrical or vice versa plant has always been the subject of science and art.”

Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur said, “I created this exhibition with the idea that the forms in nature come before the artistic form. I have associated all these forms with my own perspective and inner world. With the unique opportunities offered by our university, our faculty uses the screen printing technique in the print painting workshop.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur said, “I would like to thank our Founding Rector Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, our dean Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç, our department head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün, and my husband Gökhan Okur, whose birthday is today, and all the staff of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.”
