The North Cyprus Pharmacy Students’ Association proudly represented the TRNC at the 70th IPSF World Congress held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The North Cyprus Pharmacy Students’ Association (NEUPSANC), affiliated with the Near East University Dean of Students’ Office, represented Northern Cyprus at the 70th IPSF World Congress held in Nairobi, Kenya. Approximately 400 delegates from more than 50 countries attended the congress, which took place from August 7-15. NEUPSANC President Tanaka Moses Nyabvure represented Northern Cyprus at the congress as the official delegate.
Held under the theme “Advancing Pharmacy Education and Practice for Global Health Impact,,” the congress aimed to bring together pharmacy students and professionals to support professional development and highlight the importance of pharmacy in healthcare.
NEUPSANC President Tanaka Moses Nyabvure represented Northern Cyprus at the congress as the official delegate and shared his views at the IPSF General Assembly. Nyabvure played an active role in discussions regarding international collaborations, student exchange programs, and federation projects. He also contributed to meetings regarding the new SEP Booklet and the “SECbuddy” initiative, which were developed to increase the Student Exchange Program’s global reach. The General Assembly concluded with the election of the new Board of Directors and the decision to hold the 71st IPSF World Congress in Thailand in 2026.

Near East University Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz stated, “Our pharmacy students have the opportunity to demonstrate their professional knowledge and skills under the NEUPSANC umbrella, while gaining new perspectives on global health systems and pharmacy practice.” Prof. Dr. Özkum Yavuz said, “Experiences gained in such international platforms allow our students to develop into professionals equipped with scientific curiosity, ethical responsibility, and a global perspective. Interacting with colleagues from diverse cultures supports their ability to develop innovative and effective solutions in healthcare in the future.”

As President of the Northern Cyprus Pharmacy Students’ Association (NEUPSANC), Tanaka Moses Nyabvure stated that representing NEUPSANC and Northern Cyprus at the Congress was a great honor. He said, “Being able to demonstrate the potential of our pharmacy students to contribute to global developments and to introduce the TRNC pharmacy education to the world at the Congress was an extremely valuable experience. I sincerely thank the Near East University Dean of Student Affairs and the Faculty of Pharmacy for their support, which made this international participation possible. The experiences we gained not only enhanced our professional knowledge but also broadened our vision through international collaborations and intercultural interaction.”
