The “7th International Celaleddin Rumi Congress” will start at 09:30 on Monday, December 12 at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center in cooperation with Nicosia Yunus Emre Institute.

Due to Mevlana’s 749th death anniversary, at the congress, which will be held with the participation of scientists and academics from Turkey and abroad, Rumi’s personality, literary personality, mysticism, Mevlevi philosophy and understanding will be discussed at the Near East University and University of Kyrenia in 3 separate sessions.

Events will last a week
Near East University, Rumi Studies Institute President Prof. Dr. Ghadir Golkarian made a statement about the program of the “7th International Celaleddin Rumi Congress”, stating that the artists of the General Directorate of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey will also perform a Sufi Music concert and a sema ceremony at the congress. Prof. Dr. Golkarian said that on Saturday, December 17, 2022, they will hold the final of the week-long event with a Sufi music concert coherent with Şeb-i Arus and a sema ceremony at the Nicosia Mevlevi Lodge.
