Protect yourself by reducing toxins!
Near East University Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eyüp Yaycı highlighted the effects of hormone balance and lifestyle habits on breast cancer. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaycı stated that one of the most important factors protecting the body is progesterone balance, noting that while some substances support this balance, others can increase the risk of breast cancer. He detailed the effects of estrogen on the body, emphasizing that uncontrolled increases in this hormone can be a risk factor. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaycı noted that daily habits such as diet, bowel habits, sleep, and stress directly affect hormone balance, emphasizing the importance of eliminating toxins from the body. Using the phrase “Protect yourself by reducing toxins,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaycı stated that a healthy lifestyle is one of the most effective steps in protecting yourself from breast cancer.
Every change you notice in your body is a message to you…
Prof. Dr. Hasan Besim, Head of the Department of General Surgery at Near East University Hospital, emphasized that breast cancer is a serious disease that can occur not only in women but also in men. “Breast cancer has become the plague of our time. Its incidence is steadily increasing in the TRNC.” said Prof. Dr. Besim, emphasizing that early diagnosis is the most important factor in changing the course of the disease. He noted that one in eight women has a lifetime risk of developing breast cancer, and that factors such as age, family history, obesity, increased fat tissue, not breastfeeding, and never giving birth all increase the risk of breast cancer.
Prof. Dr. Besim also highlighted the early signs of breast cancer, emphasizing that symptoms such as palpable hardness in breast tissue, skin retraction or discoloration, and nipple discharge should not be ignored. He warned by saying, “Every change you notice in your body is a message. Don’t ignore this message.” Referring to the diagnostic process, Prof. Dr. Besim emphasized the crucial importance of physical examination, imaging studies, and biopsy. He also emphasized that a biopsy does not cause the cancer to spread.
