“One Child One Thousand Hopes” Project makes faces smile

Near East University Faculty of Health Sciences Midwifery Department students and instructors initiated "One Child One Thousand Hopes" project. In order to raise awareness in people and to ensure equality in the children of the country, 200 children have been given presents within the scope of the project.

According to Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, within the scope of the "One Child One Thousand Hopes" started due to the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, gifts were given to the students of Fazıl Küçük Primary School.

Head of Midwifery Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Filiz Yarıcı, stated that the event held in line with the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, which is a meaningful day, once again showed how doing a favor without expecting another favor make people feel happy.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Yarıcı, emphasizing that it is an indescribable feeling of touching with love the hearts of the 200 children who need it, said "The founder and the first President of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's believed that the future would shape in the hands of the children and gave therefore of great importance to children. Becoming aware of the power possessed by the children, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, gifted the opening day of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the date of 23rd April 1920, to the children of the world.
