The “Diagnosis, Treatment, and Management of Asthma” event, organized by the Near East University Faculty of Medicine, brought together experts to discuss current approaches to patients’ treatment.
The Near East University Faculty of Medicine added another event to its training programs aimed at keeping physicians’ professional knowledge and skills up-to-date. The event, titled “Diagnosis, Treatment, and Management of Asthma”, carried out within the scope of the Faculty of Medicine and Continuing Medical Education, was a training program that addressed current diagnostic and treatment approaches for asthma.
The event, held at the Near East University Hospital with high participation, featured Dr. Fikri Koray from the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine as a speaker. Dr. Koray provided participants with information on clinical findings to consider in the diagnosis process of asthma, treatment options, and current practices regarding patient management.
The event was advised by Prof. Dr. Nerin Nadir Bahçeciler Önder, a faculty member of the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, while the moderator was the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan and Prof. Dr. Emrah Ruh, Coordinator of Continuous Medical Education at the Faculty of Medicine. The interactive event, which included a question-and-answer session, contributed to physicians sharing information in light of current scientific data and improving their experience in clinical practice.
Dr. Fikri Koray from the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, who participated as a speaker, emphasized the importance of accurate history taking and evaluation of clinical findings in the diagnosis process of asthma. In his presentation, Dr. Koray addressed the clinical characteristics of asthma in different age groups and shared comprehensive information on treatment approaches applied in accordance with current guidelines, correct planning in drug therapy, and individualized patient management. He also focused on preventive strategies for preventing asthma attacks, increasing treatment adherence, and the role of patient-physician communication in treatment success, and presented examples of problems frequently encountered in clinical practice.
