Due to the developing technologies, our lives are surrounded by electronic devices in every aspect of our lives. Many of the electronic devices used at homes and offices for lighting, air conditioning, cleaning, entertainment and many other needs can be controlled through phone applications and remote controls that allow remote access. However, this creates a serious confusion. Mobile phones, are full of with different applications installed for each device while homes and offices are overflowing with remote controls that are constantly disappearing.

You are in control with the electro-control smart device NEUREc!
Near East University aims to put an end to this confusion by producing the smart NEURec device that can remotely control all electronic devices with a single touch. The electro-control smart device NEURec developed and produced under the leadership of Near East University Faculty of Engineering Head of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Department and Director of International Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things Research Center Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman, serves to program and control the functions of lighting, air conditioning, household appliances, entertainment appliances and many more electronic devices in living spaces such as home, office, clinic. In addition, in emergency and dangerous situations, it automatically communicates with authorized institutions and gathers security functions in one hand with event-oriented long-distance notifications.

NEURec, which works with the principles of communication network technology “Internet of Things”, in which physical objects are connected with each other or with larger systems, which is one of the important technology areas of today, has a compact size of 15 cubic centimeters. NEURec, which can be accessed via its mobile application or website, is managed through touchscreen, biometric and voice commands, allowing all electronic devices to be controlled from a single address. NEURec can work with multiple interfaces including WiFi, wired internet or Bluetooth technologies to provide convenient remote access. In addition, unlike similar devices, NEURec offers its users the opportunity to name their devices as they wish.

Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel: “NEURec will provide great comfort to its users by providing the opportunity to control dozens of electronic devices from a single hand.”
Stating that R&D and innovation are at the center of the future strategy of Near East University, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel pointed out; “The NEUREc device developed by our researchers is one of the important products of this strategy.” Stating that developing technologies make life easier as well as complicated, Prof. Dr. Günsel emphasized that NEUREc will create a great comfort in daily life for its users by providing the opportunity to control dozens of electronic devices from a single hand.

Stating that they carry out important studies in the fields of robot and information technologies and artificial intelligence, Prof. Dr. Günsel said, “We continue to produce science with the mission of improving life, society and our country. We aim to contribute to the national economy and scientific productivity by transforming the projects we developed within our university into products with the vision of ‘University 4.0’ along with the opportunities we provide to our academics and researchers.
