The traditional international activity of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of the Near East University is to be held between April 24 and May 2 at AKADEMIADA.

Assoc Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of NEU located in Nicosia (Near East University, Nicosia), gave a statement to the Press and Public Relations Directorate of NEU regarding the AKADEMIADA (ACADEMYISLAND) activity. Erdal Aygenç regarding the event said, "With the support of our university, the 8th organization of Academiada is to be realized this year. The participants coming from home and abroad will share their knowledge and experience in different disciplines throughout this student-centered, exemplary event in a participatory production environment.

Prof. Dr. E.Yıldız Doyran from Duzce University will be in charge of the painting workshop; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu from Eastern Mediterranean University will be in charge of the graphic workshop, Assist. Prof. Dr. Perihan Şan Aslan from Abant Izzet Baysal University will be in charge of ceramic workshop, and Aykut Öz from Başkent University will be in charge of the sculpture workshop. We will be much pleased to wellcome all those who are interested in the event which has already been institutionalized and creates hight excitement every time it is held."

Aygenç also stated that the works that will be exhibited at this event, to which the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design will participate actively, will be exhibited on May 2.

Aygenç also expressed his gratitude and thanks to the founder Rector of YDU, Dr. Suat İ.Günsel and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Irfan S. Günsel and all of the Near East family members who actively provide support in realizing this international event.
